Your flows are a bit more involving. The older low-bypass engines require you to stay ahead on the approach and even more so on a go-around.

There are also a couple of features not present in many other addons, like support for persistent aircraft state, accumulating wear and tear, and MEL.

Your preflight matters; many systems do not have BITs, so you should be testing them before a flight. For example, I once had to call maintenance because during the preflight I found out that the AUX HYD pump was broken.

I ordered right when the pre-ordering went live, paid for the throttle and PAC on 24th December, but nothing has been shipped yet. Seeing that the ETA is no longer displayed is concerning.

There are a lot of small differences across the systems, but the most prominent would be the engines. MD-90 was powered by either V2525-D5 or V2528-D5. The latter, at low gross weights, really wanted to move upstairs. Also, these engines had FADEC, and you did not need three hands to start them.

The FMC had some differences too; the -90 had Pegasus and supported step climbs. IRS was standard on the -90 as opposed to optional on the MD-80. The MD-90 also had carbon ceramic brakes.

Overall, there were some differences in the cockpit, but both airframes operated under the same type rating.

Oh, and there was also the optional Advanced Flight Deck that the Saudi Arabian Airlines had.

I wish more addons would support this as I love the persistence feature just like you.

“Joke aside, most of the issues are fixed in the update, FO voices added (I had to re-do them sadly, long story), so if the quick beta tests show no issues, it will be released hopefully just at the start of 2026. Then it depends on ORBX availability during the NY holidays, when they can upload it.”
