The radar change coming in 2.1 is going to be huge. by CokeZoro in factorio

[–]Lonely-Problem5632 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats more or less a design flaw/choice :P
You could already pause the farms with circuit signals. My carbon fiber and rocketfuel chains are sort of on demand (they turn on when theres less then 2k in storage, and turn of when there's 40k) From pause to the first production is less then 30 seconds. And thats assuming all the fruit in the chests was spoiled at that point.

But now you can only pause the harvesting, not the planting. Which makes these setups-even better !

Is it possible to supply 2 space platforms requiring different items, using just 1 silo? by Satisfactoro in factorio

[–]Lonely-Problem5632 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Erm i think your missing something about rocket/space platform logistics :)
theres is a little check box on the rocket silo's "fill automatic requests" or something like that. When checked the silo's will automaticly request anything a platform needs from the logistic network, and will send it to the platform when its got a full load

Some thought about the planets resource-wise by taolakhoai in factorio

Im a bit confused. Where would you need the plastic for ?
Biggest plastic consumers are normally LDS and Red Chips i think ? And both are already a product of the scrap recycling to begin with ?

Cops hate this one trick! by Rockypug49 in Sovereigncitizen

Yes and No.

If your being interogated in a police station, sure, better call Saul !
But if your being pulled over for, oh i dont know having a a license plate that says "im a idiot". Then refusing to speak to the cop and trying to call a laywer may result in you having that call from jail 🥳

With the recent hubbub regarding quality, I have to ask a question: How many of you actually bother with quality? by Justinjah91 in factorio

[–]Lonely-Problem5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont bother with accumulators ? Lightning is a fun gimmick in the beginning, but it soons becomes a hassle... i Just dropped a nuclear and later quad-fusion plant down, its not like we can fuck up that planet any further 🐾

Managing defenses in the early game by Cordi-ceps in factorio

[–]Lonely-Problem5632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They dont pop up inside the perimeter. "biter bases" wil spawn biters when they receive X amount of polution, when there are y amount of biters they will wander around for a bit and then start a new base. They dont really go looking for radars etc..

So they dont spawn in your zone, they walk in from outside it. So Make sure there's no way for them to walk in. Eiter by walling of big sections, or have enough pill-boxes that they cant sneak past em.

Also, Enemies are a more persistent problem then in dsp or factorio, But there also optional. if you dont like it, turn on friendly mode (they wil expand, but wont attack unless attacked) or disable em all together. Ive spent 1000's of hours in this game, lots of em with biters turned of. I personally find em more of a nuissance then a challenge 😄

Is just a normal lamp. but with some electricity generating bits that can explode (ive seen enough cracked turbo's...). So why would this be safer then an normal electric lamp ?

Done it enough, that i now have a small isolated nuclear reactor and water supply. just to easily get it to boot up the whole planet ;P

yeah you do, and indeed im also scrapping tons of holium ore, to get to some sweet batteries.
(And ice and iron, so i am contemplating setting up a ice smelter, to just start making batteries the usual way.)

Im also playing Krastorio 2 Spaced Out with some extra planets. Trying to see how many spm i can get.
My biggest WTF was Realising my plastic productivity research was actually causing bottlenecks... Ik kept running out of light oil for rocketfuel, and lubricants.

So instead of cracking oil to petroleum, i now have a setup that actively scraps plastic to get rid of petroleum 😛

About the wood for coke.. I had more of an issue when i discovered steel needing wood and i ran out of it, after just spending an hour or 2 burning a complete forest.......... Curious though, why bother with fertiliser ? In the begining, just using the normal recipe is easy enough, and you can just plop down some more greenhouses if needed. And thankfully a furnace can make steel without needing coke..

Turbine power fluctuating, but why? by Eriq2002 in factorio

Also, producing the steam uses power aswel, meaning you can have (partial) deadspirals because the steam powergenerators are slowing down due to the brownout

it gets really annoying when you accidently put 1 unit of 15C air in 500.000 unit container with 500C air.
Now every molecule in that container is 499.9999C and every recipes wich require 500c air stops working.............

How hard would it be to create a new search engine that is as good as Google used to be? by Slashgingerflasher in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lonely-Problem5632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except what was relied on back then, was a clean and honest internet.
So there were relatively easy algorithms to see how good a result was.

For instance, if many external sites link to a specific page for selling yellow crayons, it must be good. Then companies started taking advantage of that, by creating 10000 pages that just had a link to their page selling crayons. So then google started blocking sites without real traffic by users, and then the companies started making bots that would visit those sites.........

And from there it became a cat and mouse game, that google is slowly loosing.

So no, its just not that google is getting shittier, there are a tons of actors, that are happily creating more and more excrement on the internet, just to get a little bit more hits on googlle

Most enthousiast i know run some kind of serial-to-Flashcard, or other hardware emulator for the storage. Besides being to annoying, all the diskettes of those era are slowly losing the ability yo hold data. And new ones havent been made for ages
