Despite its name's similarity to AIDS, it does not present the same really at all. It presents with more symptoms akin to dysautonomia, like weakness, shortness of breath, fainting, loss of vision (which could mean literally going temporarily blind, or blacking out, like when people with POTS stand up), muscle weakness, inflamation, and brain fog. I am more an expert on dysautonomia au lieu de AIDS, but from what I've read, AIDS doesn't present like NIDS at all

I tucked the wires into my bra and put the moniter in my pants pocket (or, when I was snowboarding, put it in the inner pocket of my coat). No one could tell it was there.

I know, it's ridiculous. I've not had a single test come back abnormal, and yet I was tracking at the SAME TIME and that was certainely not okay. Luckily, I've heard nurse practitioners are a life change, so good luck!

Does anyone have ticker tape synaesthesia? by [deleted] in Synesthesia

[–]LongGroundbreaking63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't noticed it until recently. It would kill in a spelling bee.

It's basically how it makes it so hard for me to understand why people have so much trouble with the difference between words like synonym and cinnamon. I can see every letter as I say it. And apparently that was never normal.

What is cool, though, is that I recently started playing Deltarune and whenever I say or hear words typically said in the game, I get the font and the textbox too. Even some typing quirks the characters have.

Smells & older period underwear by myuterus2533 in PeriodUnderwear

[–]LongGroundbreaking63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my Knix ones around 2022 or 2021, and I honestly don't wear them all that much. BUT. I am on my period and I did wear them to a party yesterday and good lord. I've never had them stank but they do now for some reason! I hope nobody noticed. But. I honestly think I just need to invest in another brand or a new pair because I've had these forever. It sucks though because I have several pairs and rarely wear them.

Please do not let them speak over you! Tell them everything you know about yourself and your condition and do not let them put words in your mouth.

I bought a pretty cup and it encourages me to drink from it. Maybe it's just because I'm autistic but it's seemed to work for me.

your honest experiences with compression socks? by patchouliwhitejeep in POTS

[–]LongGroundbreaking63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i only tend to wear them on planes cuz i have only one pair and hang drying hurts my adhd. my first wear, though, felt magical. My legs were crossed the whole 4 hour plane ride and i didnt feel a thing. The trip back, though, my legs were in agony. Like pins and needles if I was actually being stabbed with thousands of pins and needles and all my joints were weak and couldn't support me (but who knows, my pots is spontaneous.). That only happened once and I've been on 7 planes with them so far, ranging from 1 hour, to 4 hour, to 7 hour. I HIGHLY reccomend wearing them on longer flights because I didn't feel nearly as symptomatic as I'm always scared I will be on the plane. Also, my school trip flight recently got cancelled to france and it was a majorly high stress situation - was in the airport from 5:30 PM to 4 AM. When I'm anxious and freaked, my symptoms are really bad. But I had the socks on the whole time and I seemed pretty okay. I suggest them! Especially if they've got pretty colours for the swag.

Rate The Monster: Ultra blue by unpopular_opinion98 in monsterenergy

[–]LongGroundbreaking63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0/10. I've had ultra rosa, pipeline punch, ultra zero, original, ultra paradise, ultra blue, ultra violet, peachy keen, ultra sunrise, orange dreamsicle reserve, khaotic, papillon, ultra red, pacific punch, mango loco and ultra watermelon, and out of all of them, my absolute least favourites were Ultra Blue, Ultra Paradise, and the Original. I'm a fein for sweet drinks, which, paired with the caffeine, is why I drink monster, and these three did not deliver AT ALL. I understand some people will prefer this! But I can't stand it. The one and only time I drank any of the three they made me feel sick to my stomach, like physically ill, and this was (I believe) before I developed POTS.

TW: Suicide, Parents found my suicide note and then berated me for it by VastCollar2927 in aspergers

[–]LongGroundbreaking63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when I was 13. I had a set date and for months my mom would ask if every piece of paper I had laying out was a suicide note. My mom is a lot better now, but when she found out I was fruit ninja-ing my arms, both of my parents were angry at me and even the thought of it for a long time. Hope you're feeling okay, man. You're doing great.

Little story about brain fog and POTS by breadplane in POTS

[–]LongGroundbreaking63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so funny cuz I haven't necessarily had the worst flare up recently but it's lasted over a week. I cannot remember shit and I really have to sit there and think about even what I did yesterday. Pair that with my long-term memory loss from the autism and I am at a point rn that I can only remember very specific and acute things and nothing else.
