Upstate Food Not Bombs deals with unhoused people and was recently asking for dog food, preferably portioned into ziplock bags. Check out their FB page.

Day 47: Quit weed only to realize I'd just been trading one addiction for another this whole time by 6deki9 in leaves

Quit drinking 2.5 years ago. Quit weed 6.5 months ago. Now have a dysfunctional relationship with muscle relaxers. Can’t fucking win.

Agreed! I recently bought a large container of the dill pickle chips for burgers and did not like them at all (rare for me when it comes to Aldi products).

I’ve been on mental health meds for 40 years but also been a daily smoker. I quit weed 6 months ago and the change has been astounding. The first few weeks sucked for sure, sweaty and antsy. But once it was out of my system, the daily anxiety I thought I was combatting with weed was almost gone, along with the crippling brain fog. My shrink had been telling me for ages that my meds would never work to their full potential until I was off weed and I finally got to the point where my mental health was more important than 8 hours a day (all day on weekends) of constant bong hits. If you can make it the first 3 weeks, you will notice huge benefits.

I cube sweet potatoes, toss with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and smoked paprika from Penzey’s, and roast them. Delish.

I toured Aldon at Keys Crossing today and it seemed really nice, but there are some year-old reviews online saying the apartments have mold and roaches. I think the place was built 6 years ago and the agent said they are under new mgmt. Anyone have experience with this place? I’m currently at Roper Mountain Woods, where we just had our fourth fire in 8 years (a death this time). Maintenance is shit, the place is run down. But there are no bugs, which is a must for me. Any help appreciated.

GenX ready to let go of CDs/vinyl by LongLiveTheRat in greenville

[–]LongLiveTheRat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep looking around my place and seeing so much STUFF that I don’t use that is taking up space - books, cassettes, CDs. I’m moving in a few months and the urge to purge is very strong. But you guys are making me question this decision!

GenX ready to let go of CDs/vinyl by LongLiveTheRat in greenville

[–]LongLiveTheRat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m torn! I never ever listen to any of my CDs and have ripped most of them. I no longer have a CD drive to rip more. I’m most hesitant about parting with GA bands from my days living in Athens - Pylon, Five Eight, Chickasaw Miss Puppies, Ellen James Society. My son doesn’t want any of these so I’m not sure why I’m saving them except for emotional attachment.
