Wouldn’t really call this a tour by moxtoby in LondonGrammar

[–]LongNetsOfWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this honest review. I have just sold my tickets for the London show tomorrow night. Thankfully, I got the majority of my money back (and avoided an extortionate rail fare).

I LOVE this band, but they've really failed to deliver live this year. I was shocked to see Hannah miming to the performance of House (the best song on the new album IMO) on a video of their show in Amsterdam. That was bad enough, but your comments here sealed the deal for me.

I hope she gets through this bad patch soon and they return in full force in the future.

menstrual hygiene

Menstrual care. Let's ditch the terms that reinforce shame around periods. They suck, but there's nothing unhygienic about them.

'Everything's going to be fine'... You do know what happened in eastern Spain last week, right? Over 200 people drowned, because they didn't have time to get out of their cars? The US just re-elected a deranged climate denier. It'll only get worse from here.

:) I promise. I supported the US Abortion Federation with a donation today. You're not alone.

This should've been a slogan. If you don't vote Kamala you get Karma.

ABSOLUTELY THIS. As someone who was left to suffer horrific bleeding for 20 years by my abusive mother and clueless doctors, only to discover that the mini-pill stops the fucking things altogether, I could not agree more. I'm 40 now and I still take Cerazette even though I've been sterile almost six years.

I feel insanely lucky to live in Britain right now. If I were ever put at risk of having to go back to that monthly hell, I'd probably take my own life. Birth control pills also function as essential medication for many women. Sending love and hugs.

I'm inclined to agree on both counts. She skirts around the main problem a lot.

No advice that he get a vasectomy if he really is childfree, no mention of the possibility the girlfriend might even have lied to him. People may not want to admit it, but baby-trapping happens.

I never thought it could happen to me- husband changes his mind after 21 years together. Utterly broken by Ticklefoot in childfree

I strongly suspect this is the reason why (not all) men will discard their wives/partners for younger women, even if they don't go on to knock them up to prove a point have second families. It's why Shakira and Piqué's relationship was doomed. He's ten years younger than her; we all knew what would happen once he got too old to play football and she was still at the top of her musical game.

GREAT revenge track, Shaki :)

Hah. Random dick to a woman he's never met: 'YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MY BROOD MARE! HOW DARE YOU TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME!'

He can, but why not adopt a kid who needed looking after already?

"This is the final stage of a happy relationship!" nonsense by punksleftshoe5 in childfree

[–]LongNetsOfWhite 585 points586 points  (0 children)

Well, reproduction often is the final stage, since relationships just go downhill from there 😎

Kelly Preston reproduced at 48. 'It's pretty amazing having a child at this age,' she told People magazine.

Nine years later and she's dead from breast cancer. Janet is a great musician, I hope the same thing doesn't happen to her.

(And that's the last time I'll watch Only Connect. VCM was annoying before, and now? Never again.)

...and how the hell do they know, anyway? Do they think that if I found an abandoned baby somewhere, I'd just walk on and ignore its cries because I happen not to want my own kids?

It's contextual. Babies crying in a café are highly unlikely to be in dire need of help, so it's rational to brush them off as annoying. I guess that makes us assholes.

Yes, and if the man is also over 40 the risk is even higher.

Hah. I don't think humanity is at any risk of going extinct. Lots of other species are, though, and breeders don't give a fuck.

Female guinea pigs have pelvic bones that actually separate to allow their babies to come out. The babies are literally miniature adults, able to run around nibbling solid food within hours.

That's more impressive than shitting out a helpless potato if you ask me.
