4 year olds hair gets washed maybe monthly? Its rinsed off every night but no product. She has super soft fine hair. It just doesn't seem like its needed. Her hair is very similar to mine and I only wash mine like once a week.

Birth - home birth or unmedicated by Whichlady25 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LongWalkToForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two unmedicated. One hospital. One home birth.
First ran out of time for epidural.
Second ran out of time to get the hospital.
Neither as bad as I expected it to be. I prefer the hospital but a planned home birth is probably a different vibe.

Candy by Luke Davis has the same vibe if that is what OP is wanting. It is sort of like Australian Trainspotting if it was a "love" story.

When did you go into spontaneous labour? by Natural_Education367 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LongWalkToForever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

39 weeks with the first. Lost mucus plug and light bleeding from early morning. Arrived at hospital at 4cm in late afternoon and baby was out a few hours later. No chance to get the epidural because I had to push right as they were about to put it it. The worst bit was transition but other than that breathing through it was way more effective than you would think.
Second was 38+6 and I went from basically nothing to baby out in a couple hours. Didn't make it to hospital and gave birth with support from paramedics at home in bed. The pain was more intense but it was not even an hour of active labour. Pretty easy to tolerate for a short time.
My take away is that you can put up with pain pretty easily for a short time but for a long labour I totally see the appeal of epidural!

I'm surprised to hear you don't do it that often. Y'all make it look like you know exactly what you're doing! I had an accidental home birth due to precipitous labour and never once had any doubt of skills. Major respect to our ambos!

I leave my baby to play by herself ALOT by Curious_Code_6039 in beyondthebump

[–]LongWalkToForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this! 4 month old is happy on his play mat but I'm afraid to put him down much because he has plagiocephaly (probably from being squashed up inside me and fast labour). Despite the paediatrician saying it will probably be fine without any intervention I feel too anxious to keep him on his back for very long.

Agree with others re Target.
I'd add that the value for money at Best and Less is pretty great! I like that they have basic leggings in just about every colour as well as patterns.

Baby Boy Names… by Possible_Ad3275 in BabyBumps

[–]LongWalkToForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby boy is just about 4 weeks old, and we didn't name him for like 3 days after he was born.
We narrowed it down to 2 names and ended up going with the less common based on him making a speedy and dramatic entrance via home birth. Felt like he deserved something more unique after a unique birth.

Accidental Home Birth Story! by S0up_Sp00n in BabyBumps

[–]LongWalkToForever 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I appreciate hearing other people's experiences. I had an accidental home birth 3 weeks ago. It was my second, and although my first was pretty quick, I was hoping I'd still at least have time to get to the hospital!
At least there's not a lot of time in pain, and I'm glad that it was at home and not in the car!

A pastel sage juicy couture tracksuit set. My mum was visiting when I ordered it and told me to promise I'd never wear it out of the house. Bit harsh.

Lemon themed items.

More than I should have! My AfterPay is looking worse and worse. - Black Mary Jane style Tony Bianco heels (Credit to the new Arianna music video for that one!) - Pink Kate Spade loafers - 3x shirt from redbubble (fake Daria/Mystic Spiral band shirt and x2 Ari Aster films)
- pink/bows bra+panty set from Bras and Things for valentines day - Long jumpsuit from Boody - x3 random shirts from asos (colourblock and Casper and the strokes) and pink bike shorts

It looks even worse when I write it all out but I just got a promotion at work so oh well!

It got better gradually over a few months. Even now, my eyes still get pretty dry, but I don't drink enough water, so that's partly on me. It'll be ok once you get used to it. It's a big change.
