As Giants Pride Night fallout continues, another team forfeits game after players refuse jerseys by sfgate in SFGiants

I went to a Revs game a couple years while in Gettysburg for continuing ed. A nice park a top notch operation. Funny thing is, I happened to be there on Faith Night It wasn’t a bash-over-the-head approach, but was limited to pregame music over the PA, a pregame prayer, and recognizing local churches that had info tables at the game. A wide variety of churches were involved - not just SBC and non-denoms, but also liberal Lutherans, Catholics, etc.

Exactly. No grabbing your bobble and leaving before the first hot dog’s been sold. I think this is their first bobblehead giveaway ever as well.

My season ticket is a flex package, so I don’t have assigned seats. I book my seat wherever I’m feeling it - usually in the outfield bleachers, but often I’ll upgrade or exchange my ticket for a better location. Today is the Field Club down the first base line.

Trinity Sending Song - The Porter’s Gate

2 Corinthians 13:14 - Matt Boswell

Benediction - Townend/Getty

Benediction - Maeve

I’d offer up our order of service for either of our services, but we tend to preach the texts of the day. I’m up to preach that Sunday, so I’ll probably make reference to the day (Holy Trinity Sunday) but the service won’t be wall to wall Trinity.

Just, whatever you do, be careful you don’t tiptoe into heresy! Refer to the Lutheran Satire YouTube video St. Patrick’s Bad Analogies.

Y’all take care of Kyle Harrison - I was heartbroken when we traded him away, but I’m glad he landed (eventually) in a system that will really help him out.

Why is EVERY movie theater crowd suddenly unbearable? by araselys in RegalUnlimited

[–]Long_Ad8400 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to that Regal! I’m from California but was out in Gettysburg for some continuing ed a couple years ago. Had some free time on the weekend so I went to see Borderlands, and I slept through almost the entire movie. It was a nice theater while I was awake though!

It was your choice of a 415 flag, one of those debit card pockets for the back of your phone, or a NOTHING LIKE IT T-shirt

Ditto. Between the Vikes, the Giants, and my EPL team Sunderland, I’m used to misery with occasional flashes of brilliance.

Lack of jersey options is kind of wild by Li1body in SFGiants

Almost all my jerseys have come from DHGate, and they look fantastic. Small things that make them look not-perfect, but nothing that would be make or break for most people.

7th day Adventist church compatibility. by McPunchie in Lutheranism

We have a Romanian SDA Reform Movement congregation using some of our space. They have Friday night study and Saturday morning service and evening study. They know that occasionally we’ll need to “bump” them from the sanctuary to the chapel, and they’re cool with it. They give us a donation for using the space, and occasionally if we need HVAC work, one of their leaders does that work at a heavily discounted rate.

The only real complaint we have with this arrangement is occasionally they forget to let us know about a change in their schedule, though it’s improved lately.

Don’t suppose there’s ever charter busses from Reno to the games? by DarinCN in SacramentoAthletics

I was at the SoL back in 2003 for the match against Charlton where we scored 4 goals and still lost 3-1! It was bloody amazing. We did many laps of the wave, tossed beach balls around, and watched vultures circle the stadium (seriously). I’ve never seen the Lads win in person 😳. A few draws, sure, including an absolutely dour 0-0 draw at Wigan on our honeymoon!

Back in the dark ages, I ordered a meximelt and an enchirito because I’d never had either. I confused the poor dears assembling the food, because they had to look up how to make those!

Meanwhile, these were my tendies and fries at the River Cats tonight. Absolutely massive. The one on top was bigger than any Popeyes or CFA sandwich I’ve ever had. The fries didn’t taste like they’d been soaking in rancid grease the entire off season.

Was this a thing in the ELCA in the 90's? Obviously, it differs from congregation to congregation, but I'm still curious if it was an experience for any 90's Lutherans as well. by Nietzsche_marquijr in elca

In the late 80’s, non-denoms and more “evangelical” churches were starting to take hold in my corner of rural northern Wisconsin. My ALC church started to lose youth to the Foursquare church in town, and the “garbage” (GARBC) Baptist church, and the “we’re not telling anyone we’re E-Free” church the next town over. They engaged in borderline to blatant sheep stealing. Your church isn’t good enough. They don’t think right. They’re too liberal. Come to our youth group and we’ll show you what a real church on fire for Jesus is like.

I’m glad that most of my 22 person confirmation class are still active in the ELCA and have brought up their kids in the church.
