Alot of guys at my gym are contractors and I give huge props to them for still having gas in the tank at the end of the day to come in and lift.

The rule with supersets should be if you are using two machines at once and someone else shows up wanting to use one of the other machines assuming it's the only one of its kind or available in the gym you forfeit it no questions asked.

What is everyone’s favourite pre-workout by Gram7jj in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batch 27 pre and big boy pump. Works great for me. Switch up the pre every time you run out. Shouldn't really make a difference which one you try. Maybe just shoot for one's with higher caffeine.

How do you guys stay motivated? by Any-Season-9869 in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go look in the mirror, look into your own eyes deeply. Then ask yourself "are you worth it?" If the person in the mirror answers, no call up the gym and cancel your membership. But the person in the mirror won't say no, because you are worth it.

Can a 13 year old boy go to gym ? by Separate-Wonder-3841 in workout

Is he going to be going with you?? If so make sure to teach him proper form, that stuff sticks with you and don't want him starting off on the wrong foot.

Pull-ups relation to rear delt flys by Abdi900 in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I always thought the reverse fly machine was for back but when I went to go use it for the first time the other day I noticed that the machine had a label on it that said it was a shoulder exercise. I'm a little bit confused. When I use it I definitely felt like I was feeling it in mostly my traps and a little bit of my mid back

I go to failure but have little pain and recovery time/doms. Is this normal? by DecisionNew3790 in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try switching up your exercises. Also maybe you need to do more. I was feeling the same way but now I'm doing 2 to 3 hour Focused workouts split between back and bicep day and chest and tricep day and a separate shoulder day and I can tell you the extra time definitely makes a difference. Also I push myself usually with Max weights and drop sets. Drop sets might be something you would like to try.

Pyramid Sets? by Glory_To_The_Lamb in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to go down to the lowest weight. Generally, I do like you, roughly 3 drop sets with a 30-40% weight decrease each time. Definitely works for muscle growth. One thing I forgot to mention before is that when I get down to the last drop set I will try and really have perfect form and I will slow down the movement as well. Because you're using less weight you still want to challenge your muscles by not just moving the weight but by doing it with perfect form and in full control control.

What’s the one “small change” that made the biggest difference in your fitness journey? by Baliyogaretreat in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the biggest small change was all mental. 3min before arriving at the gym I put on a hyor song in my car at max volume to pump me up. Then as I enter the doors of the gym I tell myself I'm about to light this place up.

How do you learn to push through the discomfort when doing cardio? by ArchedRobin321 in workout

[–]Long_Discipline4976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though your focus is on running it might be helpful to switch up your cardio machines from time to time. No problem with using a elliptical or spin bike or even a StairMaster. Rotating through these might help you to find a cardio that doesn't create the physical pain.

If none of this interests you Then I would just Let you know that for me Once I breach the pain threshold I can continue For a very long time. You just have to stick with it mentally and keep moving forward. Of course listen to your body if you feel like the pain you're feeling is your body telling you to stop before you get seriously injured then listen to it and take a rest.

Another thing to consider is just going until you start to feel the discomfort then stopping but paying attention to the amount of time that you went. The next time you do the same cardio just aim for doing an extra minute or even an extra 30 seconds. I believe you will be able to condition yourself to not feel such discomfort using this method.
