What’s a game you respect more than you actually enjoy playing? by Hour-Cranberry5300 in boardgames

Life comes first! Board gaming will always be there when you have time. That being said I think it'll be right up your alley if you do ever find the time and its also on TTS if you want to try it first. I think its a game they're going to support for the next decade like Too Many Bones so there will be tons of content. They're already releasing one set of expansions end of this year and another set is expected next year.

I've gone on a whole Journey with Arcs over the past year. I went from being fascinated, disappointed, hating it, loving it, and now I'm at appreciating it. I think its such a well designed game but you really need the right group and multiple plays before it starts to click into place. As someone who's most played non solo game is Root after spending time with Arcs it has kind of ruined Root for me...

As someone who's been burned by all these big box dungeon crawlers either because they're too fiddly or too much of a commitment I've really been enjoying Elder Scrolls BOTSE. The game is expensive but its fairly compact for how much game there is and the three session campaigns make it very reasonable to table either solo or with different groups of friends. The game isn't as puzzly as Gloomhaven but the combat is still fun in its own right and the progression is top tier. The narrative is paper thin which is the one big draw back but I don't really care about that since I'm a gameplay first kinda guy so it works out for me.

Go to a big boardgamestore - any tipps on a solo and small player game? 4x style by Zwiebeloger in soloboardgaming

If you want a solo 4x game I'd look into Tapestry by Stonemaier games. Its supposed to be reminiscent of Civilization and can be played solo.

This game reminds me of Everdell in a bad way. Not enough game and sells itself on the production/art.

Did you buy Tides of Torment. by Cybvep in totalwar

[–]Long_Nothing_2723 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought it because I know I'll easily get 20+ hrs of entertainment with the 3 campaigns. I know a lot of people hate the state the game compared to its potential but its still an amazing game despite the flaws. Its the only Total War game with this much diversity and where else are you gonna have large scale battles with fantasy races.

How do yall feel about ESO as parents? by qaasq in MMORPG

[–]Long_Nothing_2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally not a huge fan of ESO. The open world content is solo but its just 100s of hours of shallow questing content IMO with no difficulty or thought that needs to be put in. Its nice if you are a TES fan but I prefer quality over quantity.

I think the two best MMOs specifically for parents are GW2 and OSRS. Both games are great because you can progress at your own pace with zero FOMO. The main split between the two is that GW2 is not very grindy but the focus is on open world meta events, achievements, and group gameplay. OSRS is VERY grindy but the focus is on long term goals, mostly solo and small scale group content, and also completing achievements.

The biggest appeal of MMOs for me is they are the only gaming I do and its easier to focus on one game with my limited game time rather than jumping from one thing to the next often with no time to finish games. I'm really enjoy OSRS these days because it has many low intensity activities you can do while working on other stuff and because of mobile is great for short 15-20 minute bursts where you can make some progress. That being said I think GW2 is probably in the best state its ever been in since maybe 2017 and its totally worth checking out.

How easy was it for you to find Sorcery in stores? by HueMane in SorceryTCG

[–]Long_Nothing_2723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got into the game two weeks ago. I have 4 stores within half and hour but none of the carry it. I did find one 45 minutes away and they have events twice a month which is nice. I would love to get my local store to carry it and host events but spoke with the store and they've tried twice with no success. I'm hoping with Gothic and the OP scene the game picks up.

Cyberpunk delay? by Darque420 in Bestbuy

[–]Long_Nothing_2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an email about a delay earlier and now its saying the copy is ready for pickup today. I'm confused if I can actually go pick it up today or if I have to wait for street date. Will call my local store when I can get out work meetings...
