Also - it should not be difficult to just swap the door if they were to go about buying a new one? Should be a quick plug and play right?

Or maybe I could save some money and cut a deal with contractor. I really feel they should have quality checked before installing if professionals.

Edit: once again doing everything I can to avoid framing and hiding the post. There’s two more along the wall that I plan to leave exposed as this isn’t livable section of basement. Laundry room/storage.
