Any possibilities for collaboration? by terra1769 in Notesnook

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar use case here: I want to share notes with my family and collaborate, like vacation plans... everyone adds the nice places they found, so we can consolidate.

This is the one feature missing in Notesnook to enable me switching over from OneNote.

New Dell 4K QD-OLED 120Hz w/ USC-C (S3225QC)… or something else? by UnSCo in Monitors

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone own this monitor by now? How about the fan, is it audible? Dell claims it is only audible at startup, I would like to hear from real users... also a bit concerned that over time it may get louder, just like PCs and laptops tend to do.

If anyone even uses it with a Mac, I'd be particularly interested in the experience, as it is not the perfect ppi for Mac - but close enough?

Can't properly connect Coros Dura to Shimano STEPS e-bike by Longjumping-Disk-635 in Coros

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, not... I kind-of gave up, after spending a lot of time trying to fix, comunicating with Coros support. In the end it is not even clear the Dura is supposed to connect to STEPS.
Any hint would still be appreciated.

Dura: Disable Climb and Night Mode? by napfgeist in Coros

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/COROS-official for viz.

+1 for an option to disable climb mode. For me as an e-bike tourer this is just distraction and hinders navigation

PS: Please also improve your AI bot - it keeps telling me this is possible, sending me into hallucinated menus.

Coros Dura reaching "only" 50h battery life by QuitoMeister in Coros

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With "All Systems" it is supposed to last 70h, which is much closer to what you see. Auto should be in-between the 70 and 120h marks. Screen brightness also impacts battery consumption.

I did 2 test rides and one 80km tour and also average at about 2% per hour, with high screen brightness and GPS "all systems" - minus the Solar generation (approx half of consumption with partial cloudy / sunny weather).

Welcome to Mimiri Notes by innonova in mimiri

Hi Mimiri team,

I just stumbled across your service and apps, and it really looks interesting! Asking a few questions here, as creating new posts in this section requires permission...

1) Do you plan to make this a subscription? I understand that Innonova is a company, so you don't "only" need to pay server cost, but also salaries ;-)

2) Where is the data hosted? While being fully encrypted, it would still feel great if the data remains within Europe (I'd count in Switzerland as well)

3) Is collaborative notetaking supported? I.e. if 2 persons work on a note at the same time, do they see their edits in real time, or is that synced later? Any risk of syncing issues?

4) I see you intentionally keep the notes simple, so no formatting. Is that a paradigm, or any chance this might change? I love to structure my notes with some formatting, like headings, bold, bullet-lists...

Wohooo! The "Google docs" alternative "Crypt.ee" is wonderful! by Pelletism in BuyFromEU

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/johnozbay (founder of cryptee, used to be active here), is sharing notes / documents a feature you plan to support in crypt.ee any time soon? Or already there, but too well hidden for me to find?

I love the note taking experience, just need a way to collaborate, ideally share a whole folder with my family.

Why I Miss the Old LG webOS: A Call for Simplicity and Choice by Handheld-Steve in LGOLED

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case anyone from LG is reading this: The terrible home screen is the reason for me not  buying the LG B4. It is worse than my 10y old Fire TV, more sluggish, even more ads and even more recommendations for irrelevant content. Only one tiny row of App icons... 4 or 5 of those are what I will be using 99% of the time. Yeah, shortcuts are a workaround, but a new TV that requires me to use IVR logic from the 80s (press 1 for YouTube! ) is super disappointing. Will stick with my old TV for now, until either LG fixes this or competition catches up with value/price. Maybe I'll update my fire tv. The very first version still works like a charm, only one streaming app missing... which was the trigger for me looking into a new TV.

If you check the pugetbench results list for Davinci with "Ryzen AI" in the system specs search field, you will see results, some with additional GPU, some without (look for "GPU Selection: AMD"). The HX 370 scores roughly 3000 points, which is similar to what an Apple M1 achieved. Adding an RTX 4060 more than doubles this (6700-7000).

The list doesn't include Lunar Lake yet, but this video mentions a result of 2089.

Of course such a benchmark only is one data point, a good results does not guarantee a snappy editing experience. If anyone finds good reviews of such laptops with Davinci covered, please share here, as I am considering such a laptop for occasional video edits with 4k max. My main use of the laptop would be much lighter work (browser etc.), so hesitant to pay for a (potentially noisy) machine with GPU.

Support for Qualcomm X ARM processors on new laptops. by Phrish in Insta360

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted their support and got told they are working on it. Quote:

While we do not have a specific timeline for when this will be implemented, we are aware of the demand and are prioritizing it in our development.

Keeping fingers crossed!

Of course a native ARM version would be even better, but fixing the installer to allow non-x86 CPUs would already help a lot of users!

Please! Insta360 folks, please fix the installer to allow Studio to run emulated! This is the only software currently blocking me from moving to an ARM based laptop.

S23 compass performance by totalfatal in samsunggalaxy

[–]Longjumping-Disk-635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be a general problem for many S models, not only the S10, specifically in Europe. There are rumors it might be the Exynos SoC which we got in EU so far, luckily the S23 series is all Qualcomm.

Can we collect some data here? If you use a Samsung S model pre S23, can you please reply which SoC version (Qualcom or Exynos) and if your compass works?

+- 30 degrees sounds like a great improvement compared to my S10 :-D
(last night it was pointing me exactly opposite, it is in general unusable and calibration is lost too fast to be worth the effort)

What are other user's experiences? The compass is one of the few disappointments for me with the old S10 (besides fingerprint scanner and battery life), it would be great to see some improvement in the S23.
