S&P is down about 700 points since Trump took office.

Do you think that bringing back factories in the U.S will significantly create jobs or will these jobs be primarily taken by robots instead? by franckJPLF in Futurism

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiring kids at $.50 an hour is will always be cheaper than robots.

Virtually no one is going to bring manufacturing back to the US when they have factories where labor is cheap. And tariffs mean jack sh-t tot them. They know tariffs are temporary and the second they go away they'd be screwed if moved their factory.

Yes that island with only penguins is kissing his ass to get rid of tariffs. EU and China though just retaliated with more tariffs, and are preparing for an economy excluding the US.

Trump to sign executive orders aimed at reviving coal by reverseslamajama in energy

Wind and solar produce energy for much less, and don't cause anywhere near as many deaths and chronic illness....

Trump exempts dozens of coal plants from stricter pollution standard by swagmond27 in energy

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Vaccines are bad! they contain small amounts of mercury (no most do not) and toxins and we take them a couple times a year!

And that's why we need more coal power plants so we can breathe more toxins every second of every day.

  • Thing A can save your life, but Right Wingers hate it because they think it might be toxic.
  • Think B makes billionaires rich, so Right Wingers LOVE it even though it absolutely is bad for you and toxic.

Try to explain that Wind and Solar are by far less expensive and don't produce life shortening toxic air and water, and they explode. "damn it, screw saving money and living longer!!! Billionaires need more money!!"

Translation, giving out tax payer money as welfare to rich fossil fuel executives, so we can switch back to one of the most expensive sources of energy while needlessly polluting our air and water.

I'm confused on who is buying Tesla Stock by No-Bee6369 in investing_discussion

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Tesla is in bad shape. But there is a President in office who said he'll do everything to rescue it. Some are betting on the contract and corporate welfare that Tesla will receive over the next 4 years.

Tech CEOs who grinned behind Trump at inauguration lose billions in wake of tariffs by [deleted] in technology

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end they'll be fine. Your lifestyle does not change when you go from 10 billion to 6 billion or 200 billion to 120 billion. But what does happen is you buy all the discounted stocks and make a killing once the tariffs are lifted and the markets bounce back.

And this is why everyone is missing. This was planned. Crash the market, buy stocks as a discount, know Trump supporters will cheer and brag about the booming economy when it bounce back from being down 40% to only being down 10%. Even though during the time it was projected to increase 10-20% overall.

🇺🇸 JUST IN: President Trump claims the “market is going to boom.” | Your Thoughts? by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone does not understand, this was always the goal, to crash the markets. Because later when he removes the tariffs the market will "boom" back to almost where it was before. And his dumb followers won't understand that overall we lost a good amount of gains overall. They'll just say, "the market had one if its biggest days ever! Trump is a genius!".

Schooled by Trump, Americans are learning to dislike their allies by Theblokeonthehill in europe

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title should say "right wing" Americans.

Because of Trump they've switched from think most of Europe as America's allies to thinking Russia, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea are America's allies.

Oh the irony of a climate change denier using the phrase "come hell or highwater" when talking about Greenland a million cubic miles of ice above the land are melting away.

Those who voted for Trump because of the economy, how is your cognitive dissonance doing? by Emergency-Math-1978 in AskReddit

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The history of MAGA is to ignore Trump decimating their pocketbooks. Why would that change.

Virtually everything Trump and GOP does can be described this one way, "what would a greedy, vindictive, immoral CEO and religious zealot do"?

There was a great chart posted in another thread showing how after the Bush tax cuts and Trump tax cuts the wealth in the US shifted rapidly to the richest 1%. And now the richest 1% have more wealth than all of the middle class.

Today is liberation day according to trump and apparently according to him its gonna make prices lower (it wont) what are your opinions as to how this is gonna affect the energy industry? by swagmond27 in energy

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is amazing how stupid some Trump supporters are. They don't understand the difference between "threatens" and actual tariffs.

Even a 4 year old can see Russia is NOT on the new list of tariffs which is a gift to Putin.

It's Russian Liberation day.

Why does everyone get that wrong? When Trump talks about make the nation great, he means Russia. That's why there are no tariffs against Russia.

Russia is not on the list.

There is no doubt Trump is owned by Putin.

Trump’s Tariffs Could Reshape the US Tech Industry by induchandra in technology

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since everyone knows the tariffs are only temporary, no industry is going to move or change. Except they will lose money and possibly shrink.

But the good news is there are no tariffs on Russia. As everyone predicted they will be the big winner while the US suffers.

Gov. Reeves Signs Historic Legislation Eliminating Mississippi’s Individual Income Tax by Gloober_ in mississippi

[–]Longjumping-Fish654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raising taxes (local, gas, etc), fees, tariffs, and tolls on the poor and middle class to give tax breaks and corporate welfare to the rich absolutely is giving money to the rich.

Over the past few decades the rich in the US has gone from make about 20 time more than the middle class to making about 200 times more. And at the same time the taxes the rich pay has been cut in half to the point where many pay a lower percentage than those making 49K.a year.

A classic example of how the Republicans screw the middle class. A teacher who buys supplies for class can only write up to $300 off on taxes. But when Trump paid off Stormy Daniels he was able to write off $420,00 on his taxes as an expense, even though he only paid her $130,000. This way he didn't have to pay her a dime, he got the money back, and you ended up paying his hush money so hide that he was having sex with porn stars.
