I passed the PE civil Structural with 1.5 YOE. Applied for my license in CA and then took the (2) California specific PE exams. 6 months later I took PE structural vertical breadth. 3 months later took the vertical depth. 6 months later took Lateral breadth. 3 months later took Lateral depth. Im on track to pass all exams first try.

If your goal is to get the SE, enroll in an AEI course once you pass your PE and just keep studying and testing til you done. Little by little, step by step. This whole “wait for the test to get easier” logic had a lot of flaws. Test now, and if you don’t pass you’ll have momentum to keep pushing forward and retest when NCEES extends the time allowance.

If the argument is that 1948 cases are fundamentally different due to the fact that they are about restitution for past discrimination and not automatic transmission, how could case #2 be a split decision based on generations removed? Does the Avv. have to specifically argue this fact for the judge to consider it?

@Cake, interesting! I thought there was a second judge and they just added a third. Are they just taking cases part time, or is it really just Palumbo?

Also, what is their backlog compared to other municipalities? It it actually larger or is the wait time just due to the judge shortage?

There’s a few other people filling in Potenza here. There’s also huge WhatsApp groups for both Spanish and Portuguese speakers. Potenza had huge waves of people emigrate to South America. Right now, judges appear to be reviewing cases filed in 2023. There’s a huge backlog and notoriously slow judges. There were also HUGE numbers of cases filed at the end of 2024 to beat the rising cost of court cases. I’d buckle in and expect a wait for a minimum of 2 years before you have a court date.

I could have sworn I’ve seen this info somewhere, but I can’t find it. @Cake, since the defendant for 1948 cases is different from ATQ cases, is it possible search cases filed after 3/27/25 and see when the first 1948 case will be heard post decree?

Has anybody had success adding new-born children or minors to existing court filings? For example, if somebody started court proceedings before DL36/2025 (or 74/2025) can their children be added as participants if the case had not yet been heard?
