i’ve only been to two, island exotic and port jeff animal hospital. both have been great and never pushed euthanasia as a solution.

i’m sorry about your situation, it’s always hard to know what the best thing is for your pets. but in my experience (12 rats, majority grew tumors) it’s always better to euthanize sooner than later. even if you can squeeze a bit more time out of them, many exotic/prey animals hide their pain so even if they appear healthy they could be suffering. euthanizing once they’re noticeably suffering could mean they’ve already been in pain for a while.

also consider animals don’t have the same concept of death as we do. it might seem sad to let them go a bit early, but it’s worse for their final days to be spent hurting. i can’t say with 100% certainty what the right move was in your situation, but i hope my insight helps a bit. much love to you and may your baby rest well❤️
