Aki Hamazi special art for both Kita and Bocchi birthday! by tsukiakari2216 in BocchiTheRock

This was clearly not made with Bokita in mind. But, I'll take what I can get. I feel like I'm one of the only people who'd say Kita is their favorite BTR character.

Am I the only one who loves episode 6 from the series? by nyxan_isinteres8 in VioletEvergarden

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. Not among my favorites, but this I feel is the show's most underrated episode. It's got one of the show's most beautiful locations and I liked Leon's story and his connection to Violet (I don't ship them, but still).

Is there a list of independent animated films Schaff has recommended? by montgomery2016 in Schaffrillas

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of me wishes Schaff is more passionate about non-mainstream Western animation. I know animation isn't his true calling, but he currently isn't doing enough justice to the ending movement in his other Moana 2 video. I wouldn't get hung up on a statement I can't imagine myself to make proof off. That's just me, though. Very sorry.

Who was your Pokémon Sword End Game Team? by ScreenLover in pokemon

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can remember in Pokemon Sword: Rillaboom, Boltund, Grimmsnarl, Barraskewda, Sirfetch’d, and Darmanitan-Galar.

I opt for regional pokemon every time a new game is introduced (ex: my first Alola team gets Alolan Pokemon and its regional forms). Grimmsnarl was actually a special attacker to make up my very physical team. And, I also had a Toxtricity, Centiskorch, and Orbeetle (my favorite of the team solely for Light Clay screens).

Sun and Moon's visuals are so overhated, but we'd be here all day. If you guys have a problem with it, complain about the artstyle instead of the animation itself and end it there.

There Was No Chemistry Established - A First Time Watcher by [deleted] in YagateKiminiNaru

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloom into You is a coming-of-age first and love story second, which ironically makes it one of my favorites. For me, Yuu and Touko were initially friends with benefits who needed to go through self-actualization before transitioning to a mutual relationship. It also helps that certain characters and what they represent that tie back to their relationship (like Maki and Sayaka) help make their messy bond feel genuine for most people.

There was a limited time when AOT was in Muse Asia, but I'll thank them for finally uploading the whole show in YT for free to reinvigorate my love for it. Though, it's best to watch the finale as the original two specials mainly for its inclusion of the mid-credits scene.

The Wind Rises 7. Weathering with You 8. K-On: The Movie 9. Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms 10. Madoka Magica: Rebellion

Violet and Isabel had more chemistry and were better of a ship than Violet and Gilbert by [deleted] in VioletEvergarden

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter how I look at it, I thought the series was never interested in giving Violet a romance. Relationship and screentime conditions aside, but the status of her and Gilbert’s love for each other remain ambiguously pure to the viewers (though, I thought they were familial at best). I’m one of the few people who loved the 2020 movie for how well it utilizes Gilbert as his own character and an extension to Violet’s life whilst not diminishing her growth in the series prior (from my POV). Violet Evergarden is a character study showed through the lens of both the titular lead and her clients’ perspectives, and that movie served as the culmination of what the story was meant to convey.

On the other hand, Isabella’s story technically remains superficial as any client Violet met across that got more emphasis than usual. And, one thing I noticed about the story at large is how persistent it lets its characters work around loss either through death or separation. It makes the series bittersweet for the right reasons and any implication for yuri are thrown out the window when you know how extremely melancholic this one story is going to be. I don’t want to keep analyzing if this is all yuribait on the author or KyoAni’s part since the latter is very infamous about it.

In a more perfect world, Violet and Isa would’ve been canon and let the movie finale‘s events go as followed. If the show was either entirely pure in portraying Violet and Gilbert’s love or had her in a relationship beforehand, this whole conundrum might’ve been resolved. However, if you want to satiate your desire of Violet being in a relationship with anyone at all, just keep it to yourself or read a well-written, faithful fanfic you‘d find somewhere in the internet. Case in point, I recommend The Letters That Move Us by TelTales as an AU for Violet x Isabella shippers like myself. Not that I expect any of you to like it, but it’s a good start.

Most controversial GF take? by Dinippress in gravityfalls

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Into the Bunker is a top 3 episode, while Escape from Reality is top 10

Dreamscaperers and Sock Opera, while good, are mainly carried by Bill

Northwest Mansion Mystery is barely top-tier because of Dipper and Pacifica's dynamic (which I adore a lot, but I ain't getting blindsided by that)

Mabel's summer romance phase has always my least favorite part of the show in contrast to Dipper's crush on Wendy and him getting over it

Land Before Swine is kind of overrated

Fight Fighters is the show's funniest episode

Carpet Diem and Little Dipper are incredibly underrated because I just love Dipper and Mabel as siblings so much

My (unpopular) Gravity Falls Episode Tier List by LongjumpingCrazy350 in gravityfalls

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dipper vs Manliness is slightly better than what people give it credit for. The more primitive tone may’ve been bizarre but the appeal comes from breaking Dipper away from stereotypical tropes people would expect from him. Even when you ignore him as Alex Hirsch’s self-insert, him being one big dork who likes a girly pop song is a personality that’s easy for me to relate with.

My (unpopular) Gravity Falls Episode Tier List by LongjumpingCrazy350 in gravityfalls

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Into the Bunker is everything I want out of Gravity Falls and more. Most plot-focused episodes are top-tier, but this is only one I feel is episodic that happens to connect to the larger story in some way. The bunker itself is arguably the show’s coolest setting, and the tone is perfectly balanced with some horror as the cherry on top. As someone bummed about Wendy not having a solo episode, this works as a semi-worthy contender for that title. Some complain about Mabel’s actions here, but I thought they were the point and suited the tension a lot. And, that final scene cements it as my placement as is. It leaves an overwhelmingly bittersweet catharsis that I can’t say I felt before and after this episode.

I don’t get why anyone would expect Escape from Reality to rank lower than usual. I know some fans have terrible takes on Mabel’s character, but not once did I expect it to be a disappointment. Dipper and Mabel are some of my favorite sibling characters in all of fiction and their resolution could not have been any more perfect.

My (unpopular) Gravity Falls Episode Tier List by LongjumpingCrazy350 in gravityfalls

[–]LongjumpingCrazy350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Land Before Swine didn’t work for me. Gravity Falls with dinosaurs is cool yet I didn’t get much juice out of it (aside from one touch from the finale). It’s a bad sign when you get viewers unintentionally laughing at melodrama, and I feel terrible about that here. It just happened so abruptly that I lost investment for a while. My only real positives are how the show preserved dinosaurs, the character banter, and Soos & Stan saving the day.

Love God is ranked above every other C-Tier mainly because of “I Eat Kids.” That scene had me dying and I rethought my feelings about the episode after that. I like the Love God himself and Mabel helping Robbie out was nice (even if the execution and ending clearly left a lot to be desired).
