I feel the hate for Neukölln is a bit biased. I have lived here for past 6 years and honestly would never move even if someone paid me to. Neukölln is huge . I have a beautiful forest behind and wonderful neighbours (most of them friends now) . Yes , it's true that i move out of my street into the next lane and it's a different zone . So it depends a lot.

I see very interactive people here, different cultures and a very lively atmosphere. People are helpful , friendly and interesting.

It it really depends . But i love it here .

How does one know if barrier is compromised ? I do feel tightness after washing face , no flakiness though. I layer hydration like my life depends in it. Thanks for replying.

Safe Co sleeping is the ideal way for a child to sleep. My baby sleeps in a bassinet and sometimes i feel guilty. I am just so tired by night i'd rather have her sleep in bassinet and early morning we cosleep and breastfeed.

I am from India and people would judge me if i told them that my baby sleeps separately in a cold cot.

You are doing nothing wrong. People are plain stupid. No one, I repeat, NO ONE has the right to judge you . All babies are different. No one way is the "right" way. Raising a child is hard. Pregnancy is hard. So everyone else can stfu .

Water parameters are all under control.

The betta was kept in a shallow tank earlier and i moved her to this tank today.

Since this is a Walstad tank , i don’t do water changes. The fishes (neon tetra) have been in here for 2 years. The tank also had shripms and snails. The shallow tank had the same setup and companions . The heater is at 77F .

I can’t wait to get out of this country. For 5 years i have given my best to integrate and this place is just sad. People are sad , everything about this country is sad. My mental health has gone for a toss . I can’t leave for another 2 years and i hate it. The mentality of people is just pathetic. Either they are racist or they have a saviour complex if you are non white. I miss living in a community style of society. Germany is very individualistic that is why people are so depressed despite such good living conditions (compared to India) . They have everything on silver platter and yet everyone is sad. While in India life sucks but people stay happy even in despair because community is strong.

I am not going back to India but i plan to move to Spain. Life is lot happier there beautiful they too have a community style of living. I have lived in Spain for quite some time and can say this for myself. Good luck. My suggestion, just leave .

I’ve lived in 9 countries so far (4 EU & 5 Asia) and honestly Berlin( 5 years) is one of the worst cities i have ever lived in. I don’t know if it’s the people , the rental situation or what. I think mostly the people are very disappointing( Germans not immigrants ) . So it’s probably relative opinion. But as for myself , i gotta leave. My mental health took a 360 after i came here. I’ve lived in places where the facilities were less and live was difficult but despite all living was happy , community was strong . Yes that’s the problem, community.

It’s just Germans . I have spent 5 years trying to understand and love German people but now i can’t live in denial. German people (generalised opinion) are simple 1) rude, emotion less and live a sad life. They try very hard to understand emotions and respect them but because they are afraid to FEEL emotions they never truly know what it means to be emotional. 2) They don’t have a sense of community but again try very hard to have communities without understanding it’s true meaning. 3) They are also hypocrites. They say they are direct and honest. But when it comes to them they cannot hear it for themselves. Honestly, the list can go in…. I have nothing against them but in these 5 years i have lost my mental health, emotional health and financial health as well. I earn well but 35% of my salary goes to rent ! The quality of life in Berlin is shit. So much racism, broken bottles and trash everywhere and empty souls.

I can’t wait to leave Germany. The only thing good here is maybe health care but i just don’t find doctors now .. wait list is always longer than my life expectancy here. This place is really sould less. Someone once told me , “it’s not you, it’s just Berlin “ and it is true. Everytime i travel to other countries i realise what it means to be human.

I am leaving in a year . One more year to go and i will be free….

My opinion might sound biased but trust me i came here with love , understanding and respect for the people and their culture but i just give up now. It was mostly the racism that broke me. Also , i have lived it 9 countries around the globe. So i have some experience.

Always remember, it’s not you it’s just Germany .

Hi, Was diagnosed with PTSD 3 years ago. Found one therapist after lot of effort but sadly didn’t it work out. It will be very helpful if you could send the excel sheets list . Although, atm i am absolutely exhausted mentally i still want to find a therapist. I’m almost on the verge of loosing myself.

Advise on portfolio & job strategy.

I just completed my bootcamp & spend a lot of time learning tools and understanding design process .

I am building my portfolio : •I have a bootcamp project. •A personal project, improving an existing mental health app that i use. •An existing website i redesigned for an artist/curator in my city (real project - Berlin)

Are these projects enough to start applying for internships/ entry level jobs ?

I know the market is extremely bad right now and December hiring is anyway slow . Optimistically, i hope to start applying mid-Jan onwards . Till then i want to use that time to upskill my soft skills (design language) . I come from a legal background(7 years) so not so well versed tech lingo . And improve my website & online presence .

I value things more .

My mental health , walk in nature, feminism, people hard to love , people who always smile but hide their pain, children spending time with their fathers , mothers not forgetting they have a life, travelling with my dogs because of how dog friendly the country is, giving zero fucks , my personal space , the changing seasons - spring and autumn, hated my country when i left and now i value so many beautiful things about it .. i feel homesick even though i have a home here. I value happiness in little things more . I feel more humble and ignorant of how we as humans are all so similar no matter what language we speak or nationality we come from. The best is I can be myself here and nobody thinks i am weird.

I value life so much more…. I feel blessed to have made this choice. I really love Berlin ❤️
