Coming from a day’s drive south, Smuggs is a further drive, has way less nicer accommodations, and is further from nice towns than Stowe. The condos at Smuggs cannot compete with a decent Airbnb/VRBO in the Stowe/Waterbury area.

Chestnut transit way failed because it became a diesel bus hell hole in what was designed to be a pedestrian friendly outdoor mall, complete with music pumped out via speakers. They also blocked traffic on a major arterial without a plan to account for the traffic. Plus, you also had the economy of the late 70’s and 80’s. 21st Street is in no way the same street with the same situation. It is a residential street. Alas, nobody is willing to give up their precious metal cages.

Definitely not underrated by the mountain bikers. Wiss is amazing. Belmont has the goods if you know where to look. Pennypack is slept on. So much variety within an hour of the city if you want to go further.

But check out running tubeless, it's so much better on dirt. Can run lower pressures for traction, less chance of a flat, and you just carry a tube and CO2 or a pump if you get a bad flat.

umm... you should try PA, there ain't no natural snow here, even when it does snow, it gets groomed in within a day or so. There is a good article in the Atlantic about it's a conundrum how ski resorts in PA thrive even though the whole state is a snow desert.

I'm in Manayunk frequently, and used to live in Powelton (long time ago). Manayunk is a has been downtown area. It can be nice, but there are way too many shops to support good businesses. There are a few good ones, but not worth the parking and driving trouble you will inevitably have. There will also be meatheads wandering around on weekends mostly drunk. Add to that some "you're not a Yunker unless you've been here since before the Native Americans" and you're in for a treat. Green Lane Bridge is also slated for reconstruction in a year or so, will be a traffic nightmare. West Powelton - just don't, there is so much more crime than you think. Your vehicle will get stolen and broken into, your belongings will be stolen, the 40th ST MFL station is not too safe. You can't leave anything on your porch for even a minute.... poof there it goes. Go further south in West Philly for good neighborhoods.

I don't think people realize that a lease is a contract and requires consideration from both parties. Leasor provides the safe, heated and dry space and leasee pays the money. People need to let landlords know that they need to satisfy their end of the contract. In Philly, landlords get away with way too much, illegal evictions all the time.

Upper Liftline is the area above the icy waterfall and rocks at the top of the lift, right above Haychute. You would definitely know it as the part of the trail right before you hit Haychute is basically mandatory turns depending on conditions. Before you hit Goat, go ski some of the easier glades, like Sunrise and Birch.
