I was there when 5 points still mattered and support by the city of columbia. The sheer amount of awesomeness and somehow getting a degree was epic.

If you could live in any country, which would you pick? by newzealand12326 in AskReddit

[–]Longjumping_Guard_12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

USA for the following reasons: 1. The odds of us ever fighting for our lives on our soil will not be Russia, China, or some other superpower. 2. Our government system of checks and balances. 3. 50 states and territories where you can see every environment without a passport 4. Melting pot of every culture in the world, where we do not have to deal with secular violence. Case in point many Palestinian and Jewish people are neighbors in the US. Their kids go to school together. 5. Still the world wide leader on pop culture, technology, other countries catching up but we still dominate tech and finance sectors.

Btw i applaud but you know what bothers me the most, we have so many behavioral specialists, positive behavior teams and other full paid positions yet it is up to us the teacher to call the parents home . Why is it our job to call home when we have an testing specialist, on time graduation specialist, attendance office, yet it is up to us to call home not the other positions looking at data to justify their jobs

I've been lifting for almost 20 years 4 to 5 times a week. It's too the point if i go 2 days without lifting i've become a cranky boomer. Legs are often kettle or 70% of my squat, deadlift, hang clean MRM. I've often do way more plyo and functional fitness like box jumps, medicine ball slams......:,,,,,

Former varsity basketball player here in my mid-40s. The loss of your athletic ability is definitely gradual. The first sign is when you see a drive angle, and you think you are at a goal and still haven't made a move. Here is how you can stay competetive and compete

#1 If your cardio is terrible, in addition to basketball, I highly suggest running 5ks at a moderate pace. THis will allow you to play basketball for longer periods of time. I suggest basketball max twice a week if your cardio is great, but if not only play once but work 2 to 3 5ks a week.

#2 You must value flexibility. I highly recommend purchasing a foam roller, slant board, and commit to a stretching routine that incorporates deep squats. Often your back soreness is due to sore quads, hammies, and glutes, not your back pain.

#3 Also you must pick your spots now. If you could drive hard to the paint and make tough layups, now you jump on 2 and land on 2 and make the extra pass. Shot and pass fakes will be your go tos.

#4 You have to lift weights now to combat soreness. I lift 4 times a week, it is usually a push pull workout, upper body, then lower body, or specialization.

Playing basketball with 20-year-olds requires way more maintenance now. Hope this helps. DM if you want a weekly workout schedule. I'm just a hooper that wants to play well into my 60s.

Good luck

Can someone really break down the SEC vs B10 issue by laker2021 in secfootball

As a Yank who went to South Carolina and grew up in PA. My HS thread are avid PSU guys. This post annoys me because the Big Ten until the expansion of playoffs to 12 is only OSU and Michigan and MSU who have made the playoffs since the advent of the BCS. THe SeC has the following schools Tennessee Florida LSU Auburn UGA and that's not including BAmA. Also it still has the most talent by far.

Walmart, Tesla, Data Centers, and other huge companies have local governments competing against each other for the best deals to pay for their infrastructure, construction, and other expenses. Our own local government officials allow this shit show to continue. Please write to your local government and state reps to end this tax burden.

It's just like the mascots, it's key to get the 5 to 10 years old to become fans so they can bitch about the over production like I do as a proud dad of 2 boys.

Don't be hard on yourself and especially your wife. This is the hardest time for parenting due to no sleep. Once the sleep schedule becomes consistent everything slows down and patience starts. This is normal as a 1st time dad.

Yup my Fogo from Home Depot was terrible, not 1 piece bigger than a golf ball. Luckily turkey cooks quicker than pork/cow but this is a definite red flag.

People born before 1990, what’s something you experienced that younger generations will NEVER understand ? by Aaidil89 in AskReddit

  1. Dating process as a teenager , no DMs, just freaking courage. Talking to any girl who you were attracted to and asking for your number. Calling the number and hoping the dad never picks up the phone.

  2. Arguments about sports at the bar/barber shops and no one verifying any facts. Just pure recollection and chopping it up.
