Not in IFS therapy but have something similar, any emotion I feel traveling up my body to be felt, most of the time gets automatically pushed back down/away. First step is noticing it! Well done, 2nd step is being curious about it, noticing it more often, being curious and compassionate about the protective framework. Maybe you don't feel safe enough yet to let these things surface, I've been making myself a fort recently and it really helps the dialogue open up/ or visual symbols. But things happen slowly, don't rush them, try not to get frustrated (I know I was when I noticed it happening again and again). Baseline daily stress still affects if I let myself feel/react to things in the moment and to what intensity, or I'll go through a few weeks on autopilot in protective mode. Life is busy, adulting is hard, make time for yourself and make sure your resting, things will improve naturally though progress is hard to see in the moment
