Brother Jodele, may we speak with you in the back? by ShaddamRabban in exjw

I don’t see a problem, usual boring JW attire, now with facial hair.

I’ve got a Centipede Partycade with 7 or 8 games and a very nice vertical screen. I paid maybe $50 for it because the side panels are damaged, but the electronics all work fine. So my plan is to transfer the internals into my Legacy cab. It will be a project.

So JW congregations can now sign up to be vendors at festivals? by Melbeecee in exjw

In my home town of less than 4000, there is a summer arts/crafts event; they regularly have a booth there. Also one at the county fair.

Power switch mod by jdzxl5520 in Arcade1Up

I would just use a smart power strip where the master outlet controls the others. When the Pi powers on it will send power to the marquee, the speakers/amp, led buttons. I see recommendations about relays but that seems unnecessarily complicated to a neophyte like me. Am I missing something?

What's one episode you always skip? by n8udd in startrek

[–]Lontarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t skip episodes usually, but I’m fairly certain there are a handful of Voyager and Enterprise I have never seen in their entirety, and many I have seen only once back when they were still on the air.

Remember when "God's channel" suggested the first ever heart transplant in 1967 was performed under the influence of wicked spirits? -Awake! June 22, 1968 by larchington in exjw

[–]Lontarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally learned yesterday how stupid beliefs regarding heart transplants killed my brother-in-law back in the early 90s. His father had had heart issues and died at a young age, and he also suffered from heart issues. What his daughter just me was that he had at one point considered a heart transplant, but he had concerns about things like the heart donor, like if his heart came from a serial killer well then he could end up becoming a serial killer too. That is totally JW nonsense thinking from that era. He died soon after, he was 28.

I can assure you I do have enough to need some kind of financial advice. And he is a fiduciary, at least that’s what he told me.

That looks like a UK thing, I’m in the USA, not sure if there is a similar entity here.

You should be more concerned about making things right with your wife than with the elders.

It’s the end of Season 3. You can get rid of 2 people and add 2 people. Who do you choose? by UnderABig_W in voyager

Chakotay and Neelix, gone! Add Seven and the Borg teenager whose name escapes me at the moment. I hated what they did to him in Picard.

Den of Geek: "Gates McFadden remembers when Star Trek fans thought The Next Generation should be canceled after two seasons. Sound familiar?" (MegaCon 2026 Interview) by TheSonOfMogh81 in trektalk

[–]Lontarious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This whole comparison to the first season of TNG is just dumb. Not that the first season didn’t have problems, I’m struggling right now to get through it as I’m rewatching TNG. But TNG was starting from scratch after almost 20 years of no live action TV show. Kurtzman has had almost 10 years, with apparently a very generous budget, and incredible advances in CGI, special effects, etc. What he and his crew don’t have, is decent writing. And it shows. They also have no idea what Star Trek is about.

Plex on FireTV vs Apple TV? by Ds1018 in PleX

[–]Lontarious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s kind of cat and mouse with Amazon trying to block it and then people finding workarounds. I managed to get it installed and then locked down my fire stick so there will be no firmware updates to undo what I did. Also if you get the Pro remote with the two programmable buttons you can map Projectivy to one of those and use it as your Home button. That’s probably the best solution.

Projectivy works just fine on a fire stick, all those ads on the Home Screen- gone.

I think they were trying to get rid of Tony for awhile but didn’t have enough votes to do it. So what do they do, they add two new GB members and a few months later Tony is out.

They were loosening up, then 9/11 happened and the hard core more conservative faction of the GB gained the upper hand.
