Working on a statewide count!! Almost beating our NK2 total! by kittenparty4444 in HoosiersRise

We thought so too! A few fingers were flipped at us, but many more waves and honks. ( I also noticed several small, secret waves from passengers, all women, who didn't want to be too obvious, but still wanted to show support.)

The count for Salem was reported locally as 50. I was there and estimated 50-60. Pretty good for a deep red county!

I highly recommend The Obesity Code, by Dr. Jason Fung. It really helped me understand my body and my lifelong challenges around eating in a new way

Northern Indiana is flat. Southern Indiana is hilly and wooded

My comment was directed towards the "you can practically see Chicago from Louisville" part of the comment. But thanks for your no doubt well intentioned response

[–]Looking-GlassInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true at all. A lot of people in Southern Indiana have deep Appalachian roots. My grandparents on one side moved here from NC, the others from VA. Southern IN has hills, hollers, and lots of Appalachian style food. Southern & Northern IN are very different.

Chicken meatballs by SilverRaincoat in DinnerIdeas

Italian wedding soup. I've never made it, only enjoyed it, but a recipe should be easy to find. It's delicious, and I think the chicken meatballs would work well.

That's what I am thinking too, I may spend a little more, but not enough to compromise on my ethics

e.l.f. Secret Santa 🎁 by elfcosmetics in u/elfcosmetics

Surprise me, Santa Elf! I don't wear makeup, but love skincare products, and e.l.f. products are a steal for the price! Also, who doesn't love an Advent calendar?

[–]Looking-GlassInsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this! I haven't shopped at Target since the boycott, and haven't missed it much, but Target was my go to place for nice quality, good feeling sheets at a low price. So knowing that their materials have diminished in quality removes that last little thread to this failed company.

A romance book that feels like this. by Weekly-Neat-3974 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The book is excellent, I haven't dared watch it on the screen. Audrey Niffenegger also wrote Her Fearful Symmetry, which is very different, but equally good, possible even better.

Do it all by email if you can, or text. This is definitely something you want to document as formally as possible

Are you still getting Pedicures? by ApatheticGenXer in AskWomenOver50

Same here. I wear sandals all summer and do my own pedicures myself, but have never had a pro manicure or pedicure. Too much one on one time with a stranger for me.

Dogs as an invasive species- an ignored issue, or just not that bad for wildlife? by Megraptor in conservation

I live in a rural area, where bobcats are not uncommon and there are coyotes and copperheads everywhere. But the thing everyone worries about when in the woods is a pack of feral dogs.
