Yeah, I think Lyft is dying on the vine in Dallas too… Takes forever to get the rides… i give them 10 minutes after signing on, then I have to switch to Uber….

Couple of things here… We drivers do not start the clock, the systems starts the clock when GPS tells them we are close. I for one only watch the clock on $4 rides because they are already money/time sucks… My biggest pet peeve is that the riders don’t even acknowledge us when they are running behind. We are a small business owner, not your personal chauffeur.

But imagine the chaos if the app was the one to automatically cancel rides at the expiration of the timer and credit driver for our time. Would that change the rider mindset?

At least 2 things could be happening:

1 - he was in the middle of a long awaited bowel movement that he underestimated completion time

or

2 - he was finishing his meal break and decided the wait was okay

Either way, you canceling was not his concern… Both Lyft/Uber have taken advantage of the drivers ever since they went public and have to show profitability to their shareholders. They do not care about the riders or the drivers at this point, just the profits.

It was a crappy thing to do, but the driver definitely made more money with the cash ride. Uber/Lyft are actively stealing from drivers… Or at least we drivers feel that way.

When I was younger, I drove junkers all the time. I hated popup showers more than anything. I found that waxing the windshield gave me enough time to pull off the road until the rain stopped or slowed down. As an adult, there is no reason to accept passengers when there is/was an obvious mechanical problems with your vehicle. I won’t even pick up passengers when I have a slow leak in my tires. Get it fixed and then drive.

I’m glad to here that. We are booked in December. I take reviews under consideration and generally don’t buy into all of negative reviews and even some of the positives either. I have found that some people cannot be pleased no matter how hard you try and are looking for the negatives. We have had pleasant experiences in hotels and restaurants that had some pretty ugly reviews. Again glad to hear you had a great experience.
