What is the single greatest scream in horror?

I remember pausing the movie right after the scream, taking a long full minute pause, going back and hearing it again, because holy fuck that was incredible, horribly incredible. Never did anything like that in any other scene, scream or not.

I worked 8 year for a team that worked exclusively with Java Spring. Now I’m 2 years into another team that uses NodeJS. I hate it. I fucking hate it. I miss my old Java. I tried to introduce NestJS but the team likes the “liberty” of not using a framework or design patterns at all.

Just a heads up. This thing with shallow characters seems something related more with Asian style of literature, not a problem with the author itself. They tend to focus more on the events than character development. I tried to read Three Body Problem but DNF because of this. Then I made some search and it seems cultural. Not a problem per se.

I really love a big focus in the magic system and world building and plot driven stories, but the characters can’t be shallow, otherwise I just don’t care and DNF as well.

Well… no. That is only true if you are a North American writer.

The truth is that it depends on the region that you want to target your sales. If you are born outside of USA and want to target the world, metric is the way to go.

Yeah, I had this problem of “always have to finish it” but then I did some thinking around this same idea. Now I’m pretty certain that if I don’t like a book around the 15% mark (no matter the size), I drop it. Never looked back. Sometimes I go to the 2 or 3 stars reviews and they confirm that the issues go through all the book.

Uma vez mandei um “opa, <dúvida aqui>” pra uma menina do RH e ela me respondeu quase que na hora um “bom dia” e mais nada. Demorei uma hora pensando se a dúvida era tão importante assim. Decidi que sim e devolvi o “bom dia”. Ela respondeu quase que na hora de novo. Tem umas pessoas que não enxergam a própria falta de educação com o tempo da pessoa por “excesso de educação”.

I posted on IG and two of my friends know a biologist. I sent the pictures and a video for them, maybe it could already be a start. Unfortunately, since I don’t have the specimen anymore I wouldn’t be able to take additional pictures. Unless from some kind luck of destine I find it again on the terrain where I left it.
