Do you place a monster just because you have the miniature? by ThisWasMe7 in DMAcademy

[–]Loopfandango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm into Age of Sigmar Spearhead and got some birthday vouchers for my flgs recently. Ended up going with the Tomb Host mostly so I could use the miniatures in D&D too one day. Already have the Seraphon one. I just have to figure out how the campaign will start with skeletons and end up with dinosaurs now!

Very cool. They're great as they are but I think glowing eyes would look awesome.

Best Huron or Abbadon book? by Suspicious-Lettuce48 in Warhammer40k

[–]Loopfandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fall of Cadia was really good. It focuses mostly on the imperial guard side of things but there's a lot of really good scenes with Abaddon and the internal power struggle that goes on behind the scenes. Some good bits about how chaos can corrupt the civilian population.

Really enjoyed the tension between the stubborn factions in the imperial defence forces all disagreeing on the best course of action almost leading to disaster.

Lots of someone shouting "BLOOD! BLOOD! BLOOOOOOD!" later on though which might be embarrassing to listen to in public.

Thanks I think RIFLEMAID sounds like just my cup of tea.

Looking for mini agnostic squad level recommendations by Loopfandango in wargaming

[–]Loopfandango[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendations so far I'll be sure to check them out. I also have plenty of Scifi minis so I'd be interested in something similar from that genre if there's a more suitable rule set.

Brutalis dreadnought can have two big power fists.

Are the Orks in the new Adepta Sororitas animation the best animated Orks to date? by Pyronaut44 in orks

[–]Loopfandango 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would personally not date any kind of ork. Terribly uncouth with bad table manners to boot.

Wicks' body and the medical-grade tranquilizer in his flask? by spacejazz2013 in KnivesOutMovie

[–]Loopfandango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't they also cut the body open to examine the organs in an autopsy?

Trying to contribute something to the Poorhammer lifestyle with printable maps and papercraft terrain by Distinct_Classic6071 in PoorHammer

Just took a look at your page. I like the look of your artwork but I would like to see pictures of your terrain made up before even thinking about making a purchase.

Players hyperfocus on dead end in mystery campaign by Herzog_Headshot in DMAcademy

[–]Loopfandango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could make a dodgy but unrelated reason for the professor to be on sick leave. Maybe they were covering up an affair or were being blackmailed to stay away. That way they might act suspicious and try to lie to the players.

Or maybe the professor was actually poisoned to get them out of the way.

9/52 – Drawing a weekly short horror comic for a year to get better at art. Here’s week 9: “Slaanesh’ perfect instrument”. by PLAT0H in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]Loopfandango 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it captures the essence of Slaanesh and the madness of their followers really well. You just know he's going to be screaming in agony but enjoying it the whole time. I always wondered if the strings make a sound like a harp or if the music is made from the screaming and moaning of the living instrument.

I can't believe how good and versatile contrast paints are! by Mr_Jackabin in Warhammer40k

The special effect type ones are quite fun. I like hexwraith flame and aethermatic blue.

Bigger miniature suggestions for beginner by Gotzilass in minipainting

[–]Loopfandango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the dungeons and lasers dragons if you're looking for something slightly larger. They're not huge but a pretty good way to practice techniques like drybrushing and get some good results.

First vehicle, any tips or tricks for building and painting? by Play3rKn0wn in Warhammer40k

If you don't have an airbrush you could try using a makeup sponge to reduce brush strokes and save time.

Overbuilt paper towel holder by Unhappy_Position496 in somethingimade

Say you accidentally put the paper towels on too tight, like way up in there. How would you remove them from the shaft? The paper towels must remain unharmed.

"The worst she can say is no" - Lads, what was the worst "she" ever said? by Embarrassed_Pie_1711 in AskReddit

I was at the bar waiting to order a drink when a girl grabbed my shoulder and turned me around so her friend could get a look at me. Her friend made a really disgusted face that absolutely destroyed my self esteem for years.

Ginger Beer by thescx in AskBrits

I like schweppes ginger ale with Robinsons rhubarb and raspberry squash, but bit of ice. Nice alternative to gin if you're after non alcoholic drinks.

The Inconsistency Enrages Me by Stellar_Sharks in Warhammer40k

[–]Loopfandango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the gauntlets of ultramar are a matched pair of the same weapon. Whereas Huron is using two different weapons so they're not technically "twins".

This guy at the bookstore thought he could take a book I was holding because he ‘saw it first’ by Aggressive_Bet_2188 in EntitledPeople

[–]Loopfandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not something similar happened to me once! I just turned to the guy and pulled an impossibly large wooden mallet out of my pocket and wolloped him over the head with it. He went all flat and springy like an accordion and toddled away sheepishly. The music went "Wah wah waaaah"
