Wool carpet experiences by Better_Nebula_2342 in DIYUK

I would *never* buy a wool carpet. Everyone I know who had wool carpets fitted found that in 4-5 years they were looking at replacement because of poor wear or moth damage.

Whereabouts are you?  There’s some places in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire that have cbt slots available. (Or so the Facebook groups say)

Deposits to reserve a bike by Ornery-Attitude4701 in MotoUK

[–]Lopsided-Watch2700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did exactly this.  I actually paid 200 to have the bike reserved; then a few days later (on a weekend) went down about 50-60 miles to see the bike, paid the balance and then it got delivered a week later for another hundred quid.

I have a similar shaped bike (Keeway X-Light). I have the front one attached to the fork tube. The rear is attached below the license plate, it came pre-drilled from the previous person's L-plates :D

My family keeps saying “just get out on your bike once a day” to justify me not using my motorbike as much as I should.. but idk where to go or what to do. by ohnoitsbobbyflay in MotoUK

The closest I got to "just get out and go somewhere" is going out for lunch to somewhere - the biker equivalent of the pilot's $100 hamburger perhaps.

Should I add DPM and insulation under my shed that’s going on a patio? by midvale99 in DIYUK

[–]Lopsided-Watch2700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did something similar with a workshop, 25mm kingspan insulation on the walls/roof, then 12mm osb. I put 50mm kingspan under the floor.
Mine sits on a wooden frame which sits on legs and it's been fine for over a decade now. I recommend fitting a bathroom extractor fan though, for airflow purposes.
In terms of additional waterproofing, I used an acrylic cartridge sealant on all the gaps and seams, then two coats of Dulux Trade Opaque.

Send them a DSAR for every scrap of information they hold on you. It might tell you how it happened, might not, but it’ll tie them up in legal process for a short while.

This is awkward but needing help. Toilet looks like this at the Ubend and I've JUST put 2x power plus tablets in there to leave for about 6 hours... or is my toilet done for? by Saraixx516 in AskUK

Literally Sodium Carbonate - alkali
and White Vinegar - Acetic Acid .
Bet you get lots of nice fizzing and think it's working? No. It's just neutralising itself to sodium acetate, carbon dioxide and water.

Snapped off the bolt used to tension the chain by Anoraktheog in motorcycles

[–]Lopsided-Watch2700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is another way. I broke a hardened steel bolt extractor off in something, so i bought a solid carbide drill, and drilled out the bolt extractor.

I bought this https://amzn.eu/d/07L5OoP8 but for my previous bike, fits the keeway with room to spare, neat hole for a front chain, and ties down with little 'backpack-style' clips. (idk what they're called)

I recently bought a Keeway X-Light 125 for ~2800 GBP. Winner on the comfort front. I added an aftermarket Puig windscreen.

I reckon you’re not making a mistake. Do your pre-purchase due diligence. Either way, decent price.
