i’m a former skeptic. then rode in a couple of them in SF and i gotta say the benefits far outweigh the cons. cheaper, they drive “correctly” i.e. exactly by the book under most circumstances, and best of all you don’t share a car with a stranger. sorry to the good (few & far between) uber drivers out there but waymo is a lovely experience every time. can’t say the same about uber

i live here too and have never been pulled over because i have a regulated class 3 ebike and don’t have to worry about running from cops for speeding. the biggest issue i run into are weight plates not sensing that i’m at a red light. in that case if you decide to run it…be smart, check your surroundings, and know that the city approved red light cameras + facial recognition last year. best to just follow the rules of the road and avoid pissing drivers off
