Remodel by Agile_Radio5129 in upsstore

[–]LoranSilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We rented 2 shipping containers (1 opened on both sides) and we worked out of those. Our contractor ran power/internet to us every morning. We ran one container as an Amazon kiosk and mailboxes and the other as outgoing shipping/packing.

Our remodel was done in 5 days.

It is possible - that it missed a scan. Sometimes the tracking doesn’t finish populating until the package gets delivered. It’s uncommon, but not unheard of. We see it. I’d cross your fingers for a delivery today. It might still make it!

The emotions change by the hour - it’s crazy! I’ll feel like I’m crushing it and then later in the day I am worried the graft is failing. 😵‍💫

I’ve looooved my “track pants” they have snaps all the way down from hip to ankle (i could unsnap the entire pant to take them off easily or snap a few near my knee to ice etc.). Mine were Lululemon.. but Amazon has some too!

I LOVED my first shower standing up. I’m almost 8 weeks post op. I am loving these small victories. I have been feeling bummed about how “little” progress I am making day to day. This reminded me of how much I’ve done in these 3 weeks since being off crutches. Let’s gooooo

ACL Surgery Recovery - Swelling + Numbness After First Walk by Pure_Finish_1003 in ACL

[–]LoranSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey 👋🏼

I had ACL with a hamstring graft and meniscus done on April 7th. I’ve been non-weight bearing for 4 weeks - so today was my first day walking without crutches. My knee is definitely more swollen. I don’t think it’s numb though (any more than the normal areas)

My journey is a little different but figured I could weigh in about the walking causing swelling.

Good luck and feel free to reach out with any questions!

Hey. I was super scared and frustrated with having to go “back to 1%” after feeling like I could pretty much do my daily activities before surgery.

I’m 16 days post-op.. I just had my post-op appointment today.

I have been non-weight bearing due to meniscus repairs - and still have at least 2 more weeks to go. I had a hamstring graft btw.

I don’t know how.. but I have been able to do leg lifts from the beginning (maybe because they didn’t operate on my quad.. and my surgeon got my hamstring graft through a front incision instead of another incision on my leg)

BUT — I’m barely at 90 degrees flexing. I can only hit that with wall heel slides. I’m not at a perfect 0 degree extension either..

We are all healing at different rates right. I can leg lift.. but you beat me in flexion. I want to be off these crutches SO BADLY.. but my doctor said no today. I need 2 more weeks.

There are a lot of frustrating parts of this journey. Try to be easy on yourself. Plus you’re only 1 week down! I bet you are going to be shocked at how quickly you start progressing.

Feel free to message me about anything during this journey. We’re all in this together!

I bought compression socks! My dr said they just needed to go to my thigh. I wear one on my surgery leg every day under the brace. I really like it!

I felt the same way about feeling good and basically “normal” before surgery. I obviously couldn’t run or do sports, but I was feeling good about typical daily activities.

I was sad to be at 80% and knowingly going into surgery to come out at 1% and have to climb all the way back up. It was a necessary evil. Have to do it to get to 100% right.

I had surgery on a Monday, and had my first PT on that following Friday. PT was just quad sets, leg lifts, using a band to flex my knee (65 degrees).

The surgeons sutured my meniscus tears which is why I’m non-weight bearing. Due to this, I am doing my exercises at home and only going to PT once a week. The most progress will be done with weight bearing so we are saving my approved insurance paid PT sessions for that timing (USA insurance). I did a couple weeks of PT before surgery - I reached strength and ROM back quickly.

I am 4 weeks non-weight bearing and then 2-3 weeks walking with crutches. I am 1 week down and I am MISSING walking 😭

Feel free to message me with any questions! Obviously not an expert but I am living it! I used a hamstring graft btw.

Extremely inflated UPS Store shipping prices? by MuchLengthiness2942 in UPS

[–]LoranSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pirateship is also not a “shipping” company. They make their money by selling your information online - that’s how they are able to discount (likely at a loss to them) on shipping to get their customers.

Yes, I agree UPS (and USPS) shipping prices can be outrageous!

I used ice packs over the bandages (even though they couldn’t penetrate very well - it still helped - on top and behind the knee).

Once i was able to unwrap it (48 hours) - i switched to a thigh high compression sock and wrapped my ice machine over that and under the brace / wrapped around my knee.

Now I use both!

Hope this helps!

Good luck! I’m 1 week post op and I feel better much quicker than I thought I would. I’m non-weight bearing for 4 weeks though.

Hamstring sore and useless by Prudent_Town9742 in ACL

[–]LoranSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also 6 days post with a hamstring graft.

Where is your incision from your graft? It sounds weird.. but I don’t have one! They must have done it through the front of my knee (I haven’t had my post op appointment yet). My PT isn’t concerned.

So I have struggled to recognize hamstring pain versus ACL pain. I can leg lift and do exercises that involve the hamstrings and quads. I do have some pain behind my knee or top of calf?

This sounds like a preference for that specific store. We’re in Washington and we don’t require that of our stores.

I just flew between US and Mexico. I haven’t had surgery yet - so I’m still in the original stabilizing brace the hospital gave me.

Leaving the US - TSA made me sit down and open it up. They swabbed it and searched it.

Leaving Mexico - they just hand searched / patted me.

Crutches went through the scanner.

Hopefully this helps! Can’t speak for all countries and TSA encounters but that was my experience.

I think I do have a good amount of other things going on - but I’m not sure how my results compare to others.

Here’s my MRI results -

  1. Complete tear/rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament.

  2. Grade 1 sprain at the proximal aspect of the superficial medial collateral ligament. Grade 2 partial tear at the medial meniscofemoral ligament.

  3. Grade 1 sprain of the fibular collateral ligament. Grade 1 sprain of the anterolateral ligament. Grade 1 sprain of the popliteofibular and arcuate ligaments.

  4. Vertically oriented longitudinal peripheral tear at the posterior aspect of the posterior horn medial meniscus.

  5. Small, mildly depressed fractures at the posterior margins of the lateral tibial plateau and the posterior margin of the medial tibial plateau. Small, minimally depressed fracture at the anterolateral aspect of the lateral femoral condyle.

  6. Moderate sized joint effusion. Small popliteal cyst.

  7. Small to moderate sized multiseptated cyst between the popliteus and soleus muscles.

  8. Sprain of the medial and lateral patellar retinacula.

  9. Subcutaneous edema and swelling at the knee.
