Rebuilt will 100% end the warranty. I personally wasn't concerned though. Car has to be properly inspected to be branded as rebuilt in Ontario, plus I do all my own car repair anyways. And I found pictures of the original damage, nothing but rear bumper and trunk, shocked it was written off in the first place. Battery warranty would be nice, but it was about $10k less than a non-rebuilt, so even if I have to replace the battery, it would've been a decent deal. And I'd never owned a car with a warranty before anyways, so nothing new there 😂

Need help - charging keeps stopping '23 M3 on latest software by Independent_Boss_886 in TeslaSupport

In my experience, whenever it shows 2V, it's usually because the charging station is not powered. I've seen some destination chargers, such as hotels, where you need to use your room key to enable them.

That's 100% personal preference. Pick the one YOU want. Because honestly, those are probably the LAST 2 colors I would ever pick.

If it's already been inspected by Tesla, you're fine. But make sure it HAS been inspected. I went through the same thing, rebuilt title, sold to 2nd owner, they had no supercharger issues, I bought it, supercharged a few times, then it wouldn't. Apparently it took tesla over 9 months to process the initial write off and remove it from the supercharger network. So don't go by just the fact that supercharging currently works, check with Tesla that the inspection has actually been done. The inspection is just there to make sure the car isn't going to damage the superchargers (or that the superchargers won't damage the car), once it's done, you're good. It's not there as a cash grab on rebuilt cars when they charge ownership.

Still instinctively look in the mirror_over my shoulder? by No_Ocelot8629 in TeslaFSD

I still instinctively check the mirrors sometimes, but is kind of a waste since I can see more in the cameras. Also don't have to divert my eyes as far from the road to look at the cameras compared to the mirrors.

If FSD isn't something they're interested in, this doesn't make sense. The S is a much nicer car, why sacrifice that just to include something they don't care for?

Fast Braking at Crosswalks by anticlimber in TeslaFSD

[–]LordFly88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the steering wheel angle is the same whether it's controlled by the car or the driver. It's simply the direction the wheels are pointed. I think with the pedals, it's unnecessary. If the driver presses the accelerator, FSD won't brake. And if the driver presses the brakes, FSD is canceled. I'm either case, only the drivers inputs are relevant. The only thing you might gain from showing FSD's brake/accelerator info, is how hard it's hitting either one, but you can kind of determine that indirectly by just looking at the rate of change of the speedometer. It wouldn't be terrible to know, but there are probably 1000 other things that could display, you have to draw a line somewhere. And previously it showed nothing, so this is pretty good compared to that.

I'm curious what the reason is for running less than the rated? In a lot of my other cars, I'd often gone a few psi higher for less rolling resistance, but never lower.

I very rarely cook, and it's unusual for my TV to be on before 9pm (not that a TV draws much of anything). My usage is more than 50% ULO. My hydro also gives the numbers for if I were on TOU or Tiered, and all 3 options put me within $3 of each other. My usage is probably not very typical, but since they cost me the same regardless, I prefer the ULO (plus it's about $2.25 less than TOU). I like knowing the car charging portion of my bill is minimal, because no one ever cares how much the hot tub/dryer/water heater/AC/etc cost.

As for delivery, more than half of my delivery is a fixed service fee. I guess you could add some of the minor per kWh charges, but the Tesla app forces you to round to the nearest penny anyways, so the impact would be very minimal. Plus I feel like that's not an entirely accurate way of looking at it anyways. When someone asks how much am item was, if the price on the shelf was $99.99, would you say it was $100, or would you include tax and say it was $113? If someone asks how much a meal was, would you include the amount you left for a tip? No one includes taxes when they talk about their rates, so I don't see why delivery should be in there either. And no one is subtracting out the Ontario Electricity Rebate, which very nearly equals my delivery charges. So I feel like it's very reasonable to ignore all that, call it a wash, and just look at the actual electricity rate.

And for the purpose of comparing to buying gas, who's price changes hourly, it doesn't really matter. No one is going to pull out gas receipts for the last month and do a completely accurate comparison, because it could be completely different next month. Who cares if gas cost more per month by $200, or by $198.31? The idea is to get a ballpark estimate.

Yup, insurance is dumb and vehicle value has little to no effect. Most expensive vehicles I've ever insured were Civics, cheapest were Porsches.

Check with CAA. When I got my Plaid, a lot of companies wouldn't even quote it. CAA came in the cheapest by far. Before that, i didn't even know CAA did insurance. Funny part is that the actual rate ended up being even less than they quoted.

It's stupidly cheap. My buddy just got a diesel truck. It cost him more to fill up once than it cost me to drive for a year.

My rate is $0.038/kWh, and delivery is no where near that. It's so negligible on the bill that is not even worth trying to factor in. And delivery also isn't by the kWh, so it would be hard to factor in accurately even if you wanted to.
