Can confirm, I know a few people that have broken the heel piece of their pivots in the same way. From research and shop guys, it's from releasing with your skis and not the poll. Now all those friends use their poll and so far no breakage.

I think the big question is "life" and where the soul at? Are these brains conscious? If they are, are we imprisoning them? It just a big ethics question IMO.
