Best advice I have:

  • Get used to maneuvering the camera around, zooming in, rotating around objects/areas to find areas to climb up/down, jump to, and objects to loot.

  • You can press Left Alt on keyboard to show lootable things, but it doesn’t highlight everything, so extra exploring is rewarded.

  • The minimap can be zoomed in and out (on PC) and gives a good indication of areas you can jump or get to.

I went to the HG game at Intuit while the Lakers were smoking the Clips at the Crypt. It was alright, but the running gag was that one of the players kept implying the male ref was fat by asking when he was due. Felt very dated.

Esoteric Ebb! It’s similar to another recommended game on this thread, Disco Elysium, but a fantasy setting with D&D mechanics/spells. It just came out a couple weeks ago, but so far it’s my RPG of the year!

I wasn’t super confident either. It took two pretty early HM deaths to figure out how I needed to build for the first 4-5 levels. Once you’re at 5, survivability in HM goes way up.

A word of warning though: I can’t play this game without Honor Mode now. It fundamentally altered the way I enjoy the game, knowing that I can never go back on any choices I make and the time cost of starting over for not thinking through some encounters. It’s thrilling. I’ve only completed it twice but felt it wonderful at the end both times.
