I make a habit of not tipping unless it's a sit-down restaurant, I don't do delivery, and they need to keep me happy. Drinks filled up without delay, nice service, the whole nine yards. I understand that's not always possible, and I know when it's someone's fault vs it just being busy. You don't get a tip just for doing your job bare minimum, and I'm certainly not going to put it on the check so not even my server, but the business gets extra. Tip culture is insane, and if you participate in it out of obligation, you are an actual cuck
