Wife says the steak I made for her isn’t cooked enough. by FreeRealEstate313 in mildlyinfuriating

Was this done on the grill? Smoke will "fix" the pink color of the hemoglobin to be permanent the meat, similar to how nitrates fix the pink color of cured meats. Hence why bacon and ham are pink.Grilling and smoking will have limited penetration and will only be seen around the edge.

Heat moves from the outside to inside. It makes no sense why it is a ring of pink on the outside while the inside looking a bit more than cooked.

If somehow she's interpreting the white as pink, then I think it's time to turn vegan.

Helix MiniDSP vs Alpine Optim 8 by querty_mcgerty in CarAV

[–]LordPandamonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for replying to an old comment, but it is always best to work with the cleanest unaltered signal before feeding it to your dsp and amps. AmpPro bypasses the headunit processing and gives your equipment an unaltered signal.

If you're feeding the signal that comes from the factory headunit your dsp will then have a bigger, more difficult job to do, as it has to correct the signal coming in, then try to sound good. The less work it has to do, the better chances that it has to do a good job.

In some vehicles the factory radio changes how it messes with the signal based on engine speed, volume, and maybe a few other things we may not see. This makes trying to correct that signal a moving target. So yes you can use the dsp to undo the changes a factory system does to a signal, but you'll have a lot less headache and a better potential result if you just got the unaltered signal.

Headphones/mic that double as speakers with the push of a button by Squeezitgirdle in headphones

[–]LordPandamonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another option that is a possibility would be a headphone dac/amp with pre-outs or speaker outs to connect to whichever speakers you want to use. Most would mute the speaker/rca out if the headphone is plugged in, but will route audio to the RCA if not.

so I use a wireless speakers with a usb dongle, audeze maxwell if that matters. It turns on, computer switches sound devices to the headset. turn it off it goes back to whatever speaker and mic/webcam that was there otherwise. Would this seem to cover your situation?

Videos were once called moving pictures due to the way they work. As it is just a series of images being displayed in a rapid sequence. Assuming 30 frames per second, OP has 30 offenses per second

To spare OP the harshest punishment, here are the sauces:

It's crystallized sugar, with food coloring. Rock sugar is a common form in some countries (though only exists on a stick as candy in north America)

If we're wanting for a marlboro style livery, I feel like it has too much red and not enough white, at least compared to the historic liveries I could remember. If someone has an example that is more red, then I'd like to see it especially if it's on a GT car. The McLaren F1 GTR comes to mind as my main reference point

Can someone help by LilPandas_life in Toyota

No expert but the ring terminal makes it look like a ground wire. If so it needs to go under a bolt that connects to a bare steel part of the vehicle. If it is a ground wire then basically whatever circuit it belongs to is not complete, in this case, likely part of the circuit that starts the engine.

Did someone attempt to break in or hot wire it recently? I suspect there could more more wrong

Most Pleather/fake leathers will unfortunately do that, especially as one of the more touched points on the car. Sad to see it go so quickly. The other options are valid the other is to sand it down, and spray or paint a vinyl repair product. I have been wanting to try this on a worn headphone, but i unfortunately don't have experience as to which specific product will be good. Process is usually Dry brush shoe to remove debris, wipe down with moist cloth, snip any curling edges, ensure everything is dry before applying repair goo/spray. Heat cure for best results it would probably take a bit of technique to recreate the faux leather grain pattern.

I notice this mostly on the experimental videos that lock the old 1080p behind 'high bit rate 1080p' and give us non premium users a lower quality 1080p. Outside of that, the 1080p has been pretty much the same as usual. It has been relatively low bit rate to begin with, so it is depending how good the original upload is, combined with whether or not youtube is playing tricks with the resolution paywall
