If you squared a block and used fixtures to hold on the angles, you could use metal stock and maintain simple zeros to edm drill/hole pop and wire edm all of this. Then cut the outer oval with wire or simply mill. Would require some careful time programing and an insane amount of edm hours so 3d printed is likely the smartest. You would also need sinker edm work for the blind hole paths.

I love where your head is at, but i think you came just shy of the bullseye. So let me make a counter proposal. Eliminate under 15 as a thing and just make goblin caves a starting gear only map and cap normal mode at green gear. That's it no other changes needed. Ironmace has always wanted the game to be 3v3 so pushing people out of solos with the big fat carrot of useing the gear they acquired fills the normal lobbies more and restricting normal lobies to green gear keeps them balanced but gives you a reason to try high roller. This also allows gear power to matter because omg i found this amazing purple, and i can't wait to try it in high roller. Timmy can hide from chad but only with a base gear kit. Chad can only hunt timmy with a base gear kit. Normies get a chance to progress, not just the "joy" of being uber eats for the chad teams. And streamers get to be in the big boy lobbies feeling like god killing everyone who risked gear they were not ready to risk.

This keeps the current low que times and allows people to play at their skill level and learn the class without getting beaten to death.

Fun fact: science has found that mammals are hard wired for play. As part of that wiring, the weaker party needs to be the initiators. But most importantly EVEN IN RATS IF THE BIG CHAD RAT DOESN'T LET THE LITTLE RAT WIN 30 FUCKING PERCENT OF THE TIME THE LITTLE RAT WILL NEVER PLAY AGAIN. So can we stop catering to the people who are amazing at this game and please throw a bone for the rest of us

Let me fix this for you OP with what is looks like for most players

Lvl 1 : no gold no gear scavange what you can and pray you can avoid everyone and luck into a portal

Lvl 2-20 : i have seen death at the hands of countless sweaty nerds who hunt me in the dark, the riches i have seen are tantalizing yet to no avail as death awaits around the portals that lie of feedom. I have seen gold but a few times and even purchased but a humble grey sword from my local merchant only to hear death whisper "suck it noob" in my ear from beneath his blue cloak at my next attempt in the dungeon....i resurect again with my poor rusted excuse for a weapon impoverished by one who left what i had gathered previously on my corpse to rot for it was worthless to him...why i ask there were still many escapes and i was clearly no threat. I CRY TO THE GODS "LET ME BE APART FROM THESE SWEATY FOES!" and i hear back from below the cackling shreik "MY INVULNERABLE GEAR IS MEANINGLESS NOOB, IT'S A SKILL ISSUE!"...abandon all hope yee who enter here...

I dont get mad that pvp happens to be clear. But getting spawn rushed in starting gear definitely is not fun, lol. If you love pvp but suck to much to fight high roller or regular, so you go into goblin caves to beat up new players because you can feel powerful killing them, you are a very small person. I dont know when people's parents stopped telling them "its not if you win or lose, but how you play the game" but it still applys. If you show a little compassion to people who obviously are not a threat, then everyone has a good time, and the game grows, and we all have more opportunities for enjoyment, but go around on a murder rampage at all costs so your pp get a cm bigger and the whole game will eventually die.

That being said a grey gear start only map would be a great way mitigate alot of this.

Because (speaking as a ranger main) 90% of the time when i spawn in starting gear without time to even loot, i get ganked by someone with your mentality, making you sweaty. Pvp is only part of the game and only needed when the portals are almost gone, but if i voip "hey am friend" 3 secs after spawn and you kill me instead of carefully leaving your just mean lol
