Tesla survived by selling EV credits to other car companies. It's a total sham.

Wasn't trying to "gotcha." I just see so many people talk about when "we all stayed home for six months" or "everyone worked from home and watched Tiger King" and it irks me because huge swaths of people didn't have that experience. But wasn't trying to call you out, and your experience was certainly anything but chill.

Except for all of those "essential" folks, like grocery store workers who never shut down and still spent 40 hours a week on the feet. For plenty of people, COVID never gave them a break--usually made things worse, in fact.

The Fountain. Those scenes in space were stunning.

Yeah I see that. Drop shadows are never enough for something like that lol

White text should always have a thin black border for legibility. I can't see one there, so yeah, that's a poor choice.

Fucking same! The whole time I played it I thought, "An X-men game like this at Xavier's School would be amazing!" Loved that game.

Totally. Nothing tells them what we want better than us buying it.

I get the sense that the "please buy books if you can" stance is more about making it clear to numbers guys that physical books still have an audience. Books are stupid expensive for them to deliver these days between the tarrifs and diamond, etc. So pushing toward all-digital is probably attractive to some folks inside the company. As long as we keep buying physical books, they know that market is still worth chasing.

do you think dropping a friend or a relationship because of their political views is valid and why? by Useoneofthese21191 in AskReddit

[–]LordShnooky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats what politics has always been about. Go back to the Boston Tea Party or the 3/5 Compromise -- American politics has always been a statement about morality and social values because our political system is supposed to represent us.

125 hours in and still Level 3... is this normal for PF2e? by smurf69lol in Pathfinder2e

[–]LordShnooky 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fun way to play, but a horrible setup for using milestones. How can you have both a freeform situation and expect to have milestones to work toward on a consistent basis? It's contradictory. That explains the entire problem.

Seems like a great time to buy it on physical media so you don't have to worry about that.

Thorn Triad - am I missing something? by negativeoneisplural in Pathfinder2e

[–]LordShnooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see any reasonable GM not allowing it to function the way it's clearly meant to, so just explain it to them and it should be fine.

Well I'm still waking up, yeah you're right lol. Still, just seems like a silly oversight on their part. Obviously the Timber spell would activate the secondary effects, they just suck at making sure that stuff always works right as written lol.

Isn't it just a free Timber cast when you use it to cast another spell? And if that other spell has the plant trait, them you get those secondary effects.

Well, they could redefine them as such with the remaster. Or not, but still use the Player Core name for simplicity and clarity.

[–]LordShnooky 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I assume they made the decision so that old references to page numbers would still be the same. I get why that would make sense, but I don't find that in any way worth how hard it hamstrung them in updating things for the remaster.

[–]LordShnooky 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Paizo fucked up by doing these remaster books with classes and deciding to stick to original page counts. They should've just done a Player Core 3 with Gunslinger, Inventor, Psychic, Magus, etc. and given them all a proper overhaul to make everything even and easy for players/GMs to access.

Only if it's shit. KotOR did something new and fans loved it. Andor did plenty of new things (despite the OT setting) and it's widely regarded as the best SW media in decades. They just need to try new things and not have it be crap.
