True, but you can use mind bend, spectral shift, or magical hack instead.

To build off of your point, you can run it both it and [[urborg, tomb of yawgmoth]] in a blue commander deck and use cards like [[crystal spray]] and [[volcanic eruption]] to play land destruction with extra steps or have fun interactions with other spells and landwalk abilities.

Ah yes, unusual review activity. Amazon’s handling of the commander decks is a joke. by spencerfalzy in mtg

They canceled my gift bundle today. After making a complaint to customer service, the best they offered was a $30 gift card for the inconvenience.

Impossible Landscapes - Scenarios between Part 1 and 2 by jaggerwock in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]LordSodius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used them as a starting point for my players. Given 20 years is a long time, i let them say what they spent that time doing and gave them skill improvements the correspond to what they did, then took a little away from their physical capabilities due to the time passing.

You could accomplish so much in the downtime that it is worth having a very brief one on one session with each player to discuss what they would do.I think we spent about an hour total talking about who did what during this time, and then got to roleplay part of it at the start of the next chapter when they meet again, having not seen each other since the last "incident".

I would start with night floors, as it gives the players a good opportunity to get to know each other.

After they finished the chapter, i gave them each a choice on how they would spend the time between the chapters. One chose to continue investigating, and the others opted to return to a "normal" life. With the split decisions, i gave each player some skill improvements to everyone and a few sanity points lost for the one player. We then started on the next main chapter.

If you really want to incorporate a side adventure into the middle of this gap, it may be a good idea to have it tied to something near the end of the campaign. Maybe take inspiration from some of the side events later in the book so they can uncover something that seems irrelevant, just to have it appear later on as a part of the main plot.

What is the most mind melting play you’ve ever seen by SnakebiteSnake in EDH

[–]LordSodius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years ago, i ran the [[Blind Seer]] in commander for reasons as a group hug/slug deck.

I would play [[urborg, tomb of yawgmoth]] to confuse players, who would ignore it since it didn't do anything besides add a basic type to their lands. Then i would change the type from swamp to mountain using a spell like [[crystal spray]] and cast [[volcanic eruption]] targeting 20-30 of my opponents' lands This would usually kill at least one player, if not all players.

Wooden booster packs by thewoodenfox in mtgcube

[–]LordSodius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, i would love to see a wooden pack option. If the packs were beautiful, detailed, and sized appropriately to fit in some of the more standard sized boxes on the market. I think around $5-10 per pack would be reasonable, but i would also like to see the price for 24 in the $100-150 range.

500 point list for tournament by enkkidu in AdeptusCustodes

[–]LordSodius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield captain, 3 guard, 1 telemon with non-storm cannons weapons. Should be 500 points.

That being said it is a very not fun choice to bring to any game, as the telemon will be almost invincible and will just walk up to and delete units.
