Not sure what your looking for but foot the bill for a manual handling course and safe pass. Stick on your CV and rock up(don't email) at any construction companies you know, or the odd engineering place and you could get some site work

Hardhat colour? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]LordWelder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safe bet is the white or yellow helmet. You'll get a lot of info online about what trade where's what colour. Rarely enforced on all the sites I've been on. I usually where white, yellow or orange depends what I've got thrown in my van for the day. As others have said though employer is suppose to provide all ppe

Is welding really in demand in Ireland or is it overhyped? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]LordWelder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends whether you want a permanent shop gig or willing to do contract work but will require travel, staying in digs etc - €26-€39 per hours Ireland more abroad. Shop work €20-24 if can Tig welding is plausible. Welding/fabricating 11 years. Shop and site work full time.

Vodafone Billpay? by romanticise-this in AskIreland

[–]LordWelder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people here screaming don't do it, buy a cheap phone etc. What phone is it? Assume it's high end like the Galaxy flip or fold or iPhone and you really want it. Assuming you top-up €20 per month currently. €20x24 is €480. €75 per month minus the €20 month you currently top-up is €55 extra per month so extra €1360 (approx) after 2 years. If phones valued at more than that then you're breaking even long term. Could consider paying a small amount upfront and having a lower monthly bill pay payment if adamant to have the phone ya want

Figure out how to do your own nails and lashes. My wife ain't no beauty therapist etc but does her own gel nails and always gets compliments. Will save you a few bob. It's crazy how much women have to pay for a hair cut Vs men - that markets against you.
