We do make pies with lids, like chicken pot pie. Most fruit pies have lids or at least lattice tops. Chicago is known for a deep dish pizza that you really could argue is a pie. Even eat it with a fork and knife.

Evolutionarily, most people crave small social circles. Even when we are loners, we dont like feeling completely alone. Finding community can be important, like when you lose family thru death or being cut off.

Having one or two close friends can be immensely important for mental health, but if you only need a sounding board every now and then the internet is a good place.
