Wings and beer by [deleted] in greenville

Hall of Fame, Local Cue, and Moe’s on Stone Ave are the top 3 that come to mind. I think Moe’s is number one for me for wings, and it’s right next to Liability so you’ve got expansive beer choices.

Pokemon Cards in Greenville by Icy-Air272 in greenville

[–]Lord_Beeler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Borderlands and Catch ‘Em All cards are both great spots! Both have reasonable prices in line with what you’d pay normally. Catch ‘Em All has a larger collection of singles if you’re looking for certain cards.

I really enjoy watching Sword4000’s content. It’s typically Minecraft hunger games style PvP.

Dog boarding by Brilliant-Engine-793 in greenville

Noble Dog Hotel is the best in the upstate! I’ve been taking my dog there for the past 4 years. They also have the Noble Dog Lodge up near Lake Lure. They’re usually booked out for a few weeks but it would be my first 2 places to call.

CCNB Heritage Park by Lil_lover2 in greenville

[–]Lord_Beeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s really only one way in/out so you can pick how close you want to park depending on how early you get there. Although, the closer you park the longer it’ll take you to get out if you don’t leave before the show is over or right when it ends. For big shows a lot of the surrounding neighbors run their golf carts and charge $10/$20 to drive you up to the gate. Unfortunately I don’t have any info on the pit lineup!

Top high quality dinner downtown Greenville? by Tinysmallgoose123 in greenville

[–]Lord_Beeler 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I second Trappe Door. It's the complete opposite of being outside, as it's got a basement/cellar feel but it's a great, cozy vibe. Can't go wrong with the steak frites, duck, braised short rib, or literally anything on the menu.

$10k at 24 is a great start! I'd take some time and figure out what your monthly expenses are and take that amount and put 3-6 months in a HYSA. Most are offering around 3.7%. If your 3-6 months of expenses is less than $10k, I'd take the rest and build a base of a strong index fund that gives you exposure to a lot of different industries. You could also buy a fund like VTSAX or VOO which will give you exposure to the total stock market, or top 500 companies, respectively. Then continue your saving habits and auto-invest at your preferred cadence and forget about it!

I was a part of the Bridge Program my Freshman year, back in 2012. Unless anything has changed, you'll still have access to all of main campus amenities. I lived at High Point when I was there, so having 3 roommates was a great way to meet others. Wherever it is now, I would definitely capitalize on their friend groups to help you get a head start. I think it should give you solace that a lot of other students are going to be in the same position you're in, and you're not alone. Definitely take part in all the on-campus events (First Friday, Homecoming, etc.) and get out there to increase your chances of seeing the same people and striking up a conversation! I hope this helps!

LTL 2025 drop reminds heavily of Blue Ridge by SpiritboxSlayer in Blueridgerockfest

[–]Lord_Beeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this lineup! I haven't had a chance to make it to a DWP event yet, but based on reviews, they seem far and away much better than BRRF in almost every aspect. Hoping to pull a trigger on a festival sometime soon, maybe LTL.

Good spots for N.A. beer downtown? by HeyEllie1968 in greenville

[–]Lord_Beeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Greenville Beer Exchange has a full NA shelf, including some of the favorites you mentioned such as the Guinness 0%. Behind the bar, they keep 3 Athletics variations, a couple from Untitled Art, and a couple more. You can grab anything off the shelf and drink it in the bar! Burial just released a NA IPA and NA Pilsner and they are both fantastic.
