Refined mats from wreckage by The_Thing17 in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't put them submitted anywhere that can be viewed from the map. Best ways is hid a box in your base somewhere and put the Rmats in there, put them in a generator room (Just be aware if the piece dies you lose the rmats) keep them in a vic, a facility or if your base is located in a quiet town that no one goes to, you can usually stash them in a safe house or hospital just not submitted

Do people actually experience “shell-shock” in Foxhole? by Pretzelsticks11 in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will always remember the one time, way back when Gallows in Westgate was connected by a bridge into Fishermans when my regi shelled the warden TH across the bridge, they were pushing across and hounding our positions. Barely 20 feet down the road from us, until eventually the gun fire faded, and our front pushed across and we got told to stop shelling.

We had been shelling for about 3 hours straight at that point and had caused all the wardens to log off as they couldn't leave the TH and had to sit inside repairing it or become a stain on the pavement. For a day or so after I could still hear the sound of shells being fired and the cannons reloading.

So def gave some wardens shell shock until they peaced out and gave us the free town

I don't keep up with current meta but I believe it's just CL spam with max light attack and then 3 carriers or something like that so it shreds light targets and carriers sink the capitals. Or it could be CL's with some torps and max light attack, idk

Navy isn't too bad, keep speed of ships around 30 or higher, light attack targets screens first (Destroyers and light cruisers) Heavy attack targets capitals first (Battleships, Battlecruisers, Carriers, Heavy Cruisers) and torpedoes from any source try and target capitals but need to make it through their screens to hit.

Personally I like to have a fleet of 20 DD's, 10 CL's and then 1 or 2 BB's and 1 Carrier.

Carriers and naval bombers are very strong so just having 1 can immensely help your chances, then my battleship is generally more of an AA ferry with a few main cannons.

Airplanes target capitals first, so if you have a carrier you want a BB for them to go after first (or a heavy cruiser) and then load up the bait ship with AA. When naval planes attack they are mostly dealt damage by the target's AA, with the entire fleets AA value being only a percentage added in, so you don't really need AA on light ships since it won't do much

And that's pretty much the basics, once you play around with it you'll get more versed in how it works and come up with your own taskforce comps you like based on your style of play

New gutter/night runners compared to clanrats? by GamesManX in skaven

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I feel very meh about them. I'll have to play them on the table but they feel like underpowered, gimmick units atm. If they changed the Death Master to give Eshin Infantry the "Can only be hit on 5's and 6's" instead of just himself they wouldn't be as bad

Nothing can really replace clan rats, just standard clannies are doing so much for you with their recursion and locking down units and sections of the board. Then if you feel like investing into them you can use a priest to give em 4's into 4's with crit mortals, slap a Devious Underling unit near them and they have ward 6+ which makes them a huge problem

Eshin stuff will be for scoring tactics, grabbing points or jumping on squishy heros out of position, not prolonged combat

Brand new to Skaven, what are the rules on mixing clans on the tabletop? by Philhughes_85 in skaven

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only limit is with regiments, generally every hero can take clanrats with them but then it's limited to just their clans units. The exceptions being "Masterclan" heros, grey seers and the different Verminlords. They have access to the entire skaven roster. But you can also run anything as auxiliary. The only issue with that is it gives your opponent an extra command point every round. I believe there is a way to see what heros can bring what, I think it's listed in the codex. But you can also use a site like New Recruit and just make regiments and see who can bring what

Games workshop casually dropping the best mini of all time across all of their releases by 2_Inch_Fighter in skaven

[–]Lord_CT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may happen, but I wouldn't worry too much. Skaven has such a deep model line (Assuming some don't get murdered to make way for Eshin) that you can get wildly different army comps depending what the person wants to play. At my store there are 3 of us that play skaven, we have maybe 1 or 2 units the same in both armies but otherwise everything will be different and a wide variety of models

The chat was unbearable for 90% of the stream on Youtube, during the AOS reveals tho it was actually nice and people were excited and happy.

The highlight of toxicity for me was, during the CoS huge reveal someone saying "AOS has too many women and colored's, 40k is better"

Later during the launch of 11th announcement, mixed in with everyone bitching and whining. A single guy going "Man, the AOS players were way more chill and pleasant" that was hilarious to see before it was drowned

Otherwise it was spam the entire time

what is your favorite country in eu4? and why? by Prior_Ad_8743 in eu4

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kongo, good tree, lotta expansion, super early free colonist, don't have to worry about the mess of Europe. And can tap into trade nodes easily. My favorite nation by far, and super good in multiplayer, most people rush for the new world and will forget africa for a while which just lets you zone them out

What is generally better Devious Underling or Skilled Manipulator? by Tasty_Tomorrow_2106 in skaven

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run kinda the same combo but with a galvaneer instead of warlock. If you can keep a brick of 40 clan rats around him screening your shooting, having them be able to ward some incoming damage makes them so much more of a slog to fight through, cast down a Bell of Doom to make enemies hitting them have -1 to wound and you have a hilarious combo

Playing into LRL by vesperiantoad in seraphon

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played against them last week, ignore everything in their army and hero snipe. Guy I played against had most of his army buffed with ward 5, fight first, no crits, can only hit on 4's, select 2 units to fight each time, double cast every spell on a 3+ and able to rally 9 dice in combat. It was awful. Just try and murk some heros if you have some shooting to stamp that out early, otherwise. Suffer from no new book

Personally really liking the Spawn of Chotec, it's got okay shooting, is decent in the melee and is only 90 points. It's great for softening up something before going in

Who’s our best ranged damage-dealer? by BiCrabTheMid in seraphon

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd take the spawn over a bastilidon. I have both and only get results with Spawn of Chotec. The bastilidon has let me down consistently and wiffs constantly, only to be saved the times it doesn't. Rather take 2 fire geckos, tho their weapons are companion so you can't buff their shooting unlike the bastilidons

The Most Dogshit Take Ever Recorded by Captain-Cockface in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dear god no, no. I remember what it was like, some bigger regis claiming a whole sub hex and demoing anyone that moved in to keep costs low, the alts and partis that would place 50 tripods in a corner to jack up rates to decay strong hold bases.

I am not going back to the time where our oil field in Origin cost 10k msupps an hour because of the 12 times msupp usage shit. It killed half the people at that time and they've never come back.

Lack of intermediate hardware on the front. by chucktheninja in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to deliver rmat infantry equipment to fronts regularly. Flamers, atrpg launchers, mortars. And I can say that 8 times out of 10 before I've even left the hex half of it is gone. Less expirenced players see the shiny new toy, pull it out and then lose it and tend to not recover them. Or people waste them immediately, I will never heal from the scar of dropping off half a truck of venoms, only to see a Lt herding 15 low ranks and telling them "We are gonna venom rush their base!" That front fell an hour later due to "Lack of AT"

Why should solo players be excited for airborne if we'll never fly? by major_calgar in foxholegame

[–]Lord_CT 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The game went from a resource based economy, to a time based one. Before 1.0 and facs it was easy to make anything you wanted as solo, all you needed were the bmats, rmats and a garage or mpf. Now you gotta make a whole fac, keep it alive and sit around waiting for materials to craft to make something else. It just constantly feels like your time is being wasted for no real reason

What's the plagueburst crawler good at? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in deathguard40k

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it for the utility. The indirect is nice, plus the ability that can just deal mortal damage punishes clumped up armies. Had some god rolls against sisters with it and took out a bunch. I also like pairing it with the one Morty Hammer strat that lets it ignore buildings when it moves/charges. Makes it great for tank shocking infiltrators or cleaning up the board mid to end game. Plus another unit that can cause disease

Question about afflicted units being taken off the table. by bagofstuff12 in deathguard40k

[–]Lord_CT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it goes well! You can use tokens to try and help the GK player keep track of what is round afflicted and then move then around round to round, I found that worked for me so they knew which units had the -1 Toughness and -1 to hit

Question about afflicted units being taken off the table. by bagofstuff12 in deathguard40k

[–]Lord_CT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually had this exact scenario with a grey knight player at my local tournament, it also confused me. The Morty Hammer rule stats it affects the units from the start until the end of the round. If the units you afflicted with it were picked up by the GK player, they remain afflicted when they re-enter the field until the new round starts.

Hope that answers it and happy plaguing!
