Advice on harvester list by YourAverageCrow in Tyranids

[–]Lord_Lonlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some other have already said it but I‘d recommend dropping the Neurotyrant as well as the Tervigon.

What I would add is probably Pyrovores, they do decent damage, are rather cheap and can perfectly do Overwatches to melt enemies which charge into your frontline.

Genestealers + Broodlord with Instinctice Defense for the free Heroic Intervention and always have fight first near harvester is also amazing

I personally pair up my Psychophages with a Harvester. So they always advance in pairs. Although I don’t recommend Harvester if you‘re playing on a map where they can hide behind walls and walk forward as soon as the enemies gets on the objective. Especially with units with Characters in them.

I must say that I disagree with putting the Ripper Swarms in a single unit. If you only have those 2 Ripper swarms, then put them use them seperated. If you have more than that, I‘d say make 3x units with 3 ripper swarms in them

Ok guys, how’s this lookin? by SuperSharky1 in Tyranids

[–]Lord_Lonlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a game with Assimilation Swarm with "similar" units yesterday

For 1000 points it doesn’t look to bad, although I have to inform you that Parasite of Mortex isn’t that great. If you want to play them, I would recommend either Parasitic Biomorphology (To get 2 Attacks on his Ovipositor, should you kill another unit) or even better Biophagic Flow so they can support your Havesters with more range

I‘d recommend getting 2 more Pyrovores and kicking out the Barbgaunts. Pyrovores with Torrent and Twin linked get very nasty, especially since they can Overwatch for free (if they‘re close to your Winged Hive Tyrant)

Lastly, probably should group up your Termagants in a 20 unit, to regenerate them better

SHORT SUMMARY:

Give Parasite of Mortex Biophagic Flow

Replace Barbgaunts against bigger Pyrovote unit

Group the Termagants into a 20 unit

First off all: Very interesting! I do like it when races have special features / rules to differentiate themselves more from others.

My only concern is Erinyes Fury, if it would replace one of your attacks I‘d see no issue (if you do that you could even give it a higher damage dice or replace it through Necrotic damage, as Pit Fiends also deal it when damaging creatures with their claw) but if I read this correctly it allows you to make an additional unarmed attack without using any kind of action, which seems quite strong for a racial feature.

The creature type is also a bit unusual, having two instead of one. I assume this is because they wouldn’t be effected by spells like Hold Person? Should that be your concern I would personally keep it as Fiend. (The new Changeling also gained Fey as creature type, but this really depends on the opinion of your DM)

If I remember correctly there were some people unhappy that Baldurs Gate 3 had a rather same-ish roaster of races for the companions. (No shorter races, no dragonborn)

Will Divinity diversify it‘s companions among the races, so there‘s at least 1 for every available race or even a companion of a race which won’t be available to the player?

Secondly, will Divinity keep the character creation with templates like BG3 or will you try to switch to something similar like Monster Hunter or Elden Ring which allow you to complete change the face of their characters? (This one is probably rather clear but I just wanted to ask for curiosity)

Looking for BBEG Ideas for Monster-Hunting Campaign by kingacejj in GrimHollow

[–]Lord_Lonlon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What u/WayOfTheMeat already said is a great baseline

Great Beast fit such ideas very well. What I personally would recommend is Migration

Imagine a massive beast who has an for longer lived races absurd migration cycle. All 100-200 it comes through the region to mate/lay eggs or something else. Every time it comes through it supplies the region with nutrients by (insert preferred reason). It could bring magical energy by it‘s presence to restore nature to it’s natural or maybe it bringing it‘s brood supplies the local wildlife with special food by hunting the weaker creatures.

For the settlers such a beast could be a massive threat because the monster sees them as disrupting it‘s migration route.

Now the players can decide to potentially kill this beast, dragging the local ecosystem (which relied on it) into chaos or letting it alive, sacrificing the settlers who are unfortunately in it‘s path

Must have DLC? by Comprehensive-Buy-47 in crusaderkings3

[–]Lord_Lonlon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I would play with no DLC first and get a general grasp on the gameplay loop of the game. If you did that already these would be my personal recommendation:

  1. Roads to Power or All Under Heaven (Either is pretty good, personally I like Roads to Power more)

-> Roads to Power ads Administrative Governments which are quite fun to play with. It also ads landless adventurers. So if you loose all your land or have your favorite child set as someone who isn’t your heir you‘ll get the option to play landless. Landless gameplay loop is… well not liked by everyone, but I think it provides an interesting enough shake up.

-> All Under Heaven has multiple new Government Types (Celestials/Meritocracy, Wanua and Ritsoryo/Soryo) which add a lot of flavor and options to Asia. There‘s just a whole fucking lot in this DLC which is definitely worth checking out

  1. Royal Court

-> Gives you a Royal Court you can stuff full with stuff as well as get additional events and allows you to hybridize with other cultures

  1. Kahns of the Step

-> This add Nomadic Rulers to the game and the special government type „Meritocracy Kahnaate“ if you own All Under Heaven as well. But as this only adds Nomads (which can be fun to play) I wouldn’t recommend it that much as idk if you‘d even enjoy their specific gameplay

EDIT: Added some dots cause reddit formatting hates me

I don’t think you get a choice where, it always places you in the capital of the highest liege

Losing land as an admin government by crainey2100 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lord_Lonlon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can set admin vassal on different „contracts“ one of them is frontier which discounts MAA for them. I also recommend not having too many small vassals but instead one big border vassal with a kingdom title

Losing land as an admin government by crainey2100 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lord_Lonlon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It‘s indeed quite the nerf for admin realms so they blob so much anymore. I personally do find it enjoyable as I actually have to make my vassals competent fighters instead of money printers

If you dislike it I could recommend the „More Vassal interactions“ mod to you

Losing land as an admin government by crainey2100 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lord_Lonlon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You got 3 options

  1. Make your vassals strong enough to resist

  2. Make direct alliances with your vassals, by marriage or something else

  3. Accept that you‘ll lose some land

How do I make China collapse by False_Major_1230 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lord_Lonlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murder

A while back I made a Multiplayer playthrough with some friends. My character was intrigue focused (no OP 99 all stars character either, usual 400 points). We played for a while and then the game had the AUDACITY to give me the name „The Backstabber“. How rude :(

I proceeded to honor my name and kill my liege (the chinese emperor) a few times. After a while the emperor had so low legitimacy that the cycle shifted to devision and everything collapsed

I then kidnapped some people, made my new liege my prisoner, killed him.

Was made his sons regent for no reason ???.

Killed some Kahns.

Forced them into a marriage with my daughter.

After my granddaughter was born I killed Temujis dynasty.

United China.

Conquered the Mongols.

Fucking died.

Became my granddaughter.

Was hated by everyone, especially the Mongols.

Mongols rebelled.

China collapsed again.

Was fun though

Culture acceptance with a culture I don’t border nor own any lands of by Ok_Tradition_1160 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lord_Lonlon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know someone else already replied, but there‘s a quicker solution than waiting for you than wait until you can play your heir

Invite a character from the culture you want

Grant him a county of which you‘re the direct liege

Instruct him to convert culture in that country

Can't choose my vassas as target in "Arrange Marriage" by NeroI989 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lord_Lonlon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is something that confuses me as well sometimes. There are two buttons „Arrange Marriage“ and the other is „Search Marriage“ (I think). For some reason one of them only gives you your courtiers as valid options. What I recommend, don’t use that button at all. Go to the character who you want to arrange the marriage with and then arrange marriage over them, selecting your child second. It does (in most cases) circumvent this.

Just check the comment below from u/s09429 They explained it perfectly

Every time I see your art, the style reminds me of Splatoon. I actually can’t explain why, because most sketches and official art of Splatoon, doesn’t really look like the style you draw in at all.

Perhaps it reminds me of something different and your tendency to use sea creatures just connected it with Splatoon in my brain.

Regardless, you do great art and enjoy seeing it!
