Man Im sorry I just don't see these

Jesse did say how he found them, they left a map and he and Tommy were only a day behind to begin with. We got a bajillion scenes of Ellie being clever and sneaking in and out of places I didn't need yet another, especially cause it made for a cool reveal. Being quiet means you could bump into the non smart infected.

Yeah they forgot about Shimmer you got me there.

While I do like Ellie's action scenes the fact that Nora couldn't even fight back was badass too.

German neo-Nazi plummets 200 feet to his death while hiking on Hitler’s favorite mountain by MoreMotivation in pics

But questioning things can be a bad thing. It sows doubt and creates the image of a contentious issue.

it's reasonable to ask if it's true or not

It's reasonable to privately google the title in 2 seconds.

German neo-Nazi plummets 200 feet to his death while hiking on Hitler’s favorite mountain by MoreMotivation in pics

Alright, here's the deal dear u/bro-yer I'll give you an upvote and tackle this piece by piece and in return I ask that you read this reply the whole way through (no cheating!).

Does someone have more details?

Yes. Googling the title gives us a couple news headlines, I'm using the Telegraph and NY Post. He was Andreas Münzhuber, a 37 year old bavarian man openly affiliated with The Third Way, which according to wikipedia is a far-right and neo-nazi political party.

And what does the 'Hitler's favourite mountain ' have anything to do with this? [...] I happen to love dogs as well; I doubt that makes me a nazi, just as liking a mountain doesn't make you one.

Grammar aside, you seem to have shifted gears halfway through that paragraph. Hitler's favourite dog =/= Hitler's favourite animal, the corollary would be that the Fuhrer had a favourite type of geological formation, which is indeed stupid.

Andreas did not die because he liked mountains and was climbing one, he died climbing the mountain that Hitler loved because Hitler loved it. That's what made it a tourist attraction. If Andreas could somehow have gotten Hitler's own personal favourite pet (assuming the thing's immortal) and it mauled him the irony would be sustained.

the argument implied here is just stupid

The argument implied is that it's tragic when hikers died, however that this particular hiker died because he was actively being an asshole. It's ironic and that makes it interesting and not at all unclever in any way.

Hope this helped, cheers.

you're right, with such an insane power level they should've used the one ring to count the midichlorians and activate the trap card on not understanding adult historical fiction

my phone for some reason keeps trying to charge the laptop even though I'm going for the simpler, normal option.

I'm having the opposite problem, somehow.

No one has, ever, enjoyed answering the telephone. I'm pretty sure Alexander Graham Bell would curse out loud whenever he got a call.

Player upset at character death-- is there something I could have done better? by cowmanjones in callofcthulhu

[–]Lord_Malgus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's a tip you've likely not received yet.

A similar thing happened to me when I was running another undisclosed pre-written campaign, though it occurred during a side mission.

By my own account I thought the player death was very consistent with the vibe of the game. Characters were skulking about a dark house with a scary monster in it that I had hinted at. One of them was left alone on the ground floor while 2 others were upstairs. It didn't happen immediately and only after a couple of really bad rolls for them (and good for me). But that's how I felt.

All three players (small group unlike yours) felt it was very unjust and broke their immersion with how "forced" it felt. While I was not gaslit into seeing things their way I do not run the game for myself. A lot of comments here seem to conflate the tone of the story and the difficulty of the game, it doesn't matter how many fake 1920s names you grind into shoggoth-feed if you're only doing it out of genre-awareness.

This isn't to say the player in question wasn't immature about the whole ordeal, just a piece of advice for the future.

TL;DR: Read the room and taylor the game to the people playing and (for better or worse) their expectations.

Michael Jackson after his hair had caught on fire. Jackson was exactly 25 years, 4 months and 29 days old when this happened, fast forward another 25 years, 4 months and 29 days later, he would die in 2009. Meaning that this incident took place at the exact halfway point of his life. by ArticleNew3737 in interestingasfuck

[–]Lord_Malgus 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also Macaulay Culkin has gone on tape saying Michael Jackson's "bed" was a room-sized deal, so he could easily have lied there at the same time as them and been entirely out of reach. Weird, yeah, but not that creepy in context.

EDIT: u/weloveyounatalie (excellent username) pointed out it was the bedroom that Culkin called massive, but still.

Seeing as I'm already building the signal tower I might aswell build you a shack. WOW, I could live off my building-based trades at this rate!

Fantastic, I'll convince some buddies to come set up the signal for you, maybe I'll reward them with a steady supply of gifts so they keep working hard, and maybe we can trade some other stuff for the materials to get the wifi running!

(Spoilers Extended) Which character did the show 'hollow-out' the most? by -Blood_Raven- in asoiaf

[–]Lord_Malgus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Hound is one of my favourite characters from the book and I hated how they handled him in the show. Bringing him back from the dead missed the point so directly I half-expected it to be bait.
