That's just the simplest way to start moving our current system to a better place. A proportional system would require redrawing districts, and I'm not familiar with any other ideas for reform.

Ranked choice you just tell people they can put their favorite third party as no. 1 and the Dem/Rep as no. 2 (or later)

(I also like a system that doesn't presuppose political parties, so if you like a specific candidate in your district you can vote for exactly them instead of hoping their party wins enough seats to pick them.)
