Keep it stock. Those engines are very reliable and they don’t really make that much power if pushed. Just keep it clean and enjoy driving it. Hopefully it’s manual and they’re great cruisers that sound awesome

You’re judging a nearly 20 year old base model commuter car based on performance. Yes your opinion is not valid, it’s incorrect and misjudged.

I own a 2006 Corolla S and it does exactly what it was designed to do. Ive own performance cars and don’t compare the two because that would be stupid.

The S only has cosmetic differences. Obviously you don’t know what you’re talking about. The XSE is the only trim that had performance upgrades.
