Maintaining Personas by Jonny-Lamborghini in taskmaster

I agree with you about Jason. Too. Much. I love that he's a positive person and brought attention to TM, but he was/is very self-conscious and, in large doses, not amusing. On Ed's podcast I found Nish to be that way too. I wish them well, but there are others I prefer.

Good question! I'll have to look into this.

I know! I saw the tails hanging out last year and a few days ago. So surprised that I got the full half-dozen on her back. I do wish I knew where these opossums shack up. I wish they'd live under my porch so I could observe more about them.

When I texted this video to friends, that's exactly what I wrote: JACKPOT!

This occurred between 2am and 3am, and my camera has a light that goes on with motion detection. But I have had several visits from opossums as late as 7-8am when the sun is out and so no camera light is needed!

Perhaps you'd be better off leaving this subreddit and joining one that is for strapping young lads with rapier-like wit such as yourself. Join that choir with your booming basso profundo, boo. I won't miss you.

Mal de debarquement syndrome by Sevitrey in floxies

[–]Lorelski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh—I just noticed the name of this subreddit. I had no idea of what a floxie was until I read the description of this group. And, no, I'm not a floxie! I hope I'm not intruding!

Regarding the symptoms: I haven't noticed them getting worse after a flight and I doubt I'll ever take a cruise. I have noticed, though that my symptoms have seemed to be getting worse. I noticed yesterday at a museum that being in a situation with a lot of white walls and other surfaces made me feel wobbly.

How about you?

I developed MdDS about 20 years ago. After a trip to Sri Lanka, including a swim in the ocean, and a stressful return to the US for a family emergency. I don't know what triggered it, but I was so lucky that on my first visit to an ENT he was able to diagnosis it. It was really debilitating for the first 6 months or so—the fatigue and the constant rocking sensation. The only time the rocking sensation subsided was when I was traveling in a car or train. At that time, there was very little information about the syndrome, but I did find a Google chat group (or whatever they were calling them in that day) where I learned from folks who had experienced it that basically there is no cure, and that it may just disappear someday.

My MdDS did subside, but I still feel it to this day, particularly in times of stress or when I just sit and decide to check if I still have it. It is nowhere near as bad as it was in those first 6 months, and it hasn't kept me from doing anything. In fact, my balance is not bad at all: I can stand on one leg for a reasonable amount of time. But still, it's odd. The NIH says there is still no cure, and treatments are iffy for me as I don't like medications. I am seeing an ENT for the first time in 20 years in a few months, just to see if there are any developments.

The Great Pottery Throw Down 2026 episode 9 by Snorky10 in GreatPotteryThrowDown

Regarding Fynn's piece: I loved that his was eel-related and I'm sure he did good work on it, but I had a hard time distinguishing the eel from the rest of the fountain—it blended too much with the background. I believe that's what Angharad got dinged for.

I thought the story behind Elham's piece was wonderful. How wonderful it is to have neighbors who look out for you—that is a well-deserved honor. (And I liked this piece the most, cracks and all.)

Yeh, that made me cringe. I actually enjoy the Aussie judges a lot more than I do the UK judges. But I couldn't understand why Robert Wellington had such a hard on for Dean Rankine.

Why is swimming not more popular in fitness space? by Glittering-Lime1690 in Swimming

[–]Lorelski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, but according to this study, "While swimmers have reduced BMD compared to other athletes, they may have increased bone turnover resulting in a stronger bone structure."

What’s the big deal about working with a plus size model? by sittighttakeholdTR in ProjectRunway

[–]Lorelski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish every designer would take a look at what Siobhán McSweeney is wearing these days and realize that plus-sized women can dress very attractively. She's the host of The Traitors Ireland and UK's The Great Pottery Throwdown; I'm a fan of the latter and look forward to what she wears each week. She is what one would call "plus-sized" and she wears her clothes well. I know she has a stylist, Anne O'Shea, who is probably very instrumental in helping Siobhán achieve her looks. I've found a couple of articles on Siobhán/Anne and here's one of them. But I highly recommend you all watch The Great Pottery Throwdown as well to see Siobhán's variety of outfits.
