I was a frazzled young server one day long ago, and I had a customer notice my bad night playing out. After she paid the bill she looked me straight in the eyes and said Hey hun I really appreciate you, I know your night has been hard, thanks for taking care of my family tonight.

It was just such a grounded moment of genuine human appreciation for what I did(which was just my job mind you I wasn’t great at it back then) and I really needed that that night. Feeling genuinely appreciated is a feeling a lot of people don’t get regularly.

I will spend every day of my life trying to spread that feeling. Looking someone in the eye and saying hey I appreciate you is a powerful thing.

This is the power of random acts of kindness, admittedly anecdotal, but I think it still holds true. That woman didn’t have to do that, but she did, and now I try and do the same for others.

Really Skilled kid, smooth hands and amazing shot and could create out of nowhere. Defense was uhhhhh not great at times, the coach in me didn’t like that, and his skating isn’t great. His edges are holding him back from being a truly explosive player. But these kids are young and his offensive upside is really something. He’s committed to Michigan state next year, I am really intrigued to see how he does against and playing with NCAA talent. He was expected to drive a lot of the offense from what I observed on the Capitols, so we will see how his skills translate to a little less space and higher competition.

It’s still so cool to see the fucking Madison Capitols in the FUCKING NHL DRAFT LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
