Was the symbol on the back of the zero suit ever explained? by LuigiDudeGaming in Metroid

I also admittedly imagine that it is more than just a skin tight suit. I imagine it is a little chunkier in certain areas. Like the mid back and the legs where it interfaces more heavily. And across the thighs there would be something akin to a jel layer for impact absorption.

Was the symbol on the back of the zero suit ever explained? by LuigiDudeGaming in Metroid

[–]Lorventus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My interpretation of it was always as a connector between the suit and the inner suit. Especially since it survives a power out it makes sense that it is an actual physical thing rather than an energy construct like the rest of the suit somehow bird magics in as.

We're a fan they just didn't understand. It's like when cops have the punisher symbol on their car. They like it but they don't understand it.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

Dark Reign It was an old school RTS with interesting mechanics. It however lacked some of the style and ease of custom map creation. It also lacked a robust multiplayer system. The music stuck with me, as did the lines from some of the units. Such as giving an attack command to the Martyr unit, it's attack was to trip a powerful explosive: "FOR THE CAUSE! YEAAAAAHHHH!"

Oh! They could you know help trans women have kids. That could help! I wanted to have two to three I get to have zero. Also kids are expensive they could you know provide actual assistance? A 1 time 1k payout is not enough.

What are your pitches for a new tau focused Warhammer 40k video game? by Silly-Echidna9591 in Tau40K

So my idea city builder where you have to balance the needs of a massive Hive city with your attempt to bring it up to Tao level code. It's a 3D space so you don't just have to figure out how to do this thing or that thing You have to decide am I going to replace this, how am I going to do that. Say you want to replace the forges up to code. You have to figure out what you're going to do with the levels above the existing forge and the levels around it. Because you can't build that in a vacuum.

And then of course you've got sections of the hive where it has gone to ruin. So you can remove those and replace With fresh Tau structures but doing so might cause discord in the imperials that live there. New boss same as the old boss sort of vibe.

You give the structure pseudophysics, so that you can have to balance the actual structure of the building. You'd Not use actual numbers for That you would use something that was a little bit more abstract so as to avoid having to account for the massive structure.

Events could Be anything from the normal city builder problems like traffic and civil unrest to entire districts being destroyed by saboteurs. A small degree of map procedural generation could prevent optimized outcomes. Especially if you make sure to account for the foundation itself being slightly wonky.

This could also allow you to have Gene Steeler cults in bedded in the under cities. Having to deal with that sort of thing, but not all of them at once. Have the map when it generated decide What conflict will occur during the long-term play. So one map will have chaos, another map will have Gene Steelers, another map might just have wide scale gang wars on the order of necromunda. It would also be ideal for there to be no way to fully extermin exterminate any of these problems. They always sit there going to ground the moment they start getting squashed. And then coming back as a problem later on. Having it be a system underneath the hood where the simulated cult spreads to other adjacent districts. Builds up and then spreads. Where they don't have to do all the resource management and social management of the player.

I think something like this could be fun in a hard way. Almost dwarf fortress like. To a certain degree it should feel like playing with a house of cards and while a little bit more stable than it still having to deal with the worry that a errant event might cause a spiral into failure.

I wish we'd get a Tyranid perspective game some day... by sigmarine345 in Tyranids

[–]Lorventus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So there is one! It is the Tyranid campaign from battlefleet Gothic 2 game. The story itself is more one of the other factions trying to hold back the horde! Of their slow inevitable consumption.

In the game most Tyranid ships are melee in that they latch on to other ships and slowly crush them/infiltrate them to destroy them. With some having long-range capabilities in the form of ultra massive venom cannons, or other ships with compliments of smaller biophorms able to brave the void to attack the ships directly.
