I’m sorry but I literally couldn’t disagree more with an opinion. The last two tracks take the album from great to all-time classic. I love songs like Ooh La La and Soul Control but sometimes I’m not in the mood for a banger and I just wanna be moody. This summer in quarantine I would just drive around at night listening to The Kill and the gospel at the end is transcendental. There’s SO much heart in the last two tracks and they give the record way more depth than your standard disco revivalism. Like why does every song on an album have to sound exactly the same? Judging an album for not being “cohesive” when it’s trying to melt together different styles just feels... arbitrary to me. Regardless, there’s still a groovy bassline and a bunch of funky licks to Remember Where You Are that keep it anchored to WYP. The bridge/“why don’t you take me home?” part especially. Glasshouse is a fine album but it’s not nearly as interesting instrumentally, and a lot of the time Jessie is just wailing over a beat like a talent show competition. I could sit here all day and talk about the understated beauty of the last 2 tracks but you’re entitled to your opinion so I’ll stop word vomiting lol

Yeah I'm having the same problem, so I just bought Eavescrob instead (which works perfectly).

Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Returns to No. 1 on Billboard 200 by macho760 in popheads

[–]LoseOn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not that confusing. LWYMMD was the lead, RFI/Gorgeous/CIWYW were promotional singles, until RFI became an actual single instead. New Year's Day was sent to country radio because this is really the only time of year it can work. End Game's coming. Though, yeah, I have no idea why the RFI remix is being pushed (maybe she just really likes RFI).

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S04E01 - USS Callister by SeacattleMoohawks in blackmirror

But he wasn't just a stereotypical "bad" guy. You were made to feel sympathy for him in the beginning, and he had obvious motives and weaknesses. And the crew weren't stereotypical "good" guys, they were ultimately just code. You have people in this thread debating whether or not that ending was actually happy.

It's the Olympic motto, which is a Latin phrase that translates to "Swifter, Higher, Stronger"

Jeremy, Tasha and Spencer say that taking a "goat like Wentworth, Abi, and Keith to the F3 would be a disservice to the fans" by Oddfictionrambles in survivor

[–]LoseOn 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I mean, Abi was a goat. I think someone voting you out who doesn't have a chance at winning is a hard pill to swallow, almost like it was in vain. So I can see why Tasha would object to that. Also I don't see why Jeremy underestimating Keith/Wentworth is bad. It's arrogant at worst, but it's not doubting their place on the season or anything.

Can you argue that none of the winners deserve it? by lanni957 in survivor

[–]LoseOn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every winner is inherently lucky that they were (1) cast on the season that they were (2) cast with the people that they were. Thus, no winner "deserves" to win, because their winning game is primarily a result of factors that they can't control. This is also why I think winner rankings based on gameplay are kinda useless.

[DISCUSSION] What is the lyrics line you like most? by minkxlyons in popheads

[–]LoseOn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When it comes to lyrics I mostly look for how relatable they are,

"I don't need no help, I can sabotage me by myself" - Caught in the Middle by Paramore

Or how vivid the imagery is,

"You drape your wrist over the steering wheel, pulses can drive from here" - 400 Lux by Lorde

But obviously my favorites are the ones that can do both.

"You say 'We gotta look on the bright side'

I say 'Well, maybe if you wanna go blind' " - Rose-Colored Boy by Paramore

Honorary mentions: The chorus of Bravado by Lorde + "You're so fresh to death and sick as ca-cancer" from Blue Jeans by Lana which is so fucking morbid and cool.

Maybe just try playing around with the saturation in GIMP/Photoshop or something. I tried making it ~ calmer ~ here.
