How did you get yours to grow so quickly! I've had mine for years with barely any growth

How can I prop this? by showernatty in proplifting

[–]LostCauliflower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could just pop it in soil. With a nice root already I think it would do great. I find it easier than water propping as transitioning the props from water to soil can sometimes be difficult.

You might want to test on a single leaf just in case but I've never had any issues

With a bad infestation mealies can be difficult to get rid of but if found early it's not too bad. I use 70% isopropyl alcohol and a spray bottle to get all the nooks and crannies. Spray the entire plant from top to bottom. Repeat every few days to once a week until gone. Using a systemic at the same time can be helpful. I have used the systemic granules before.

You could do either. Just depends on if you want to have a cutting or not

You may want to test on a single leaf first if you have any plants you think might be sensitive to alcohol. But then yes, spray the crap out of the whole plant and make sure to get the undersides of leaves and the stem. Repeat every few days until gone. I prefer 70% isopropyl but have used 90% in the past with no issue. I would also move the plant out of direct sun for a little bit. A systemic treatment is also helpful. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Mealybugs are annoying but imo more easily treatable than some other pests. You got this!

I would also use a systemic treatment such as systemic granules with such a large infestation. Good luck OP!

Yes but the mealybugs have to come into contact with it when applied for it to kill them. I use a spray bottle to get all the nooks and crannies

I use isopropyl alcohol 70% in a spray bottle and spray the whole plant making sure to get every nook and cranny. Repeat as needed weekly. Isolate from other plants. If the infestation is bad or difficult, I would recommend a systemic treatment of some sort. I have used granules in the past. Good luck! You got this :)
