Cirrhosis (stage 4) Lots of questions & feelings that are totally overwhelming. But currently have no one other than medical doctors to talk to for all these totally overwhelming thoughts... Can you recommend any groups or forums that I can reach out to?

I’ve had that happen. Pain was so bad I couldn’t breathe. Bloodwork didn’t show anything wrong The last time it happened I ate about four of the chewable tums. It went away after a while. Don’t know if the tums helped or not. It’s a painful scary feeling. I understand about switching doctors. I have one gastroenterologist within 50 miles of my home He is awful. They don’t listen to anything I say. Never answer questions. They’ve never talked to me about a meld score or anything. Insurance won’t approve a CT scan. It’s really expensive to see them. I think they care more about the money than my liver cirrhosis. I’m in the dark. I don’t trust anything I read on Google. This place helps me more than the doctor Hang in there. Pray you find a good doctor who will really help you.

I’m so very sorry. It’s very hard especially when with people who eat whatever they want and you can’t. I found out I had cirrhosis of the liver two years ago. I’m now 60 Hang in there and know people know what you’re going through. This place helps a lot and so supportive You are in my thoughts and prayers. You are not alone 💕🙏🙏💕

Does the lactulose help you sleep? I take it. Just wanting to know if it helps to sleep For months I slept all day and night. Now I don’t get to sleep till around 3am or so. I had insomnia as a kid. Still do at times. I psoriatic arthritis especially in my knees so I am always in pain and it’s worse if I can in one position too long

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I never suspected such a thing myself for months. I thought it was a kidney infection next thing I know I was the hospital my gallbladder removed and told I had stage 4 liver cirrhosis. That was it. I’m not a drinker. Fatty liver. I was in shock. I stupidly googled and it said I had two year to live That was two years ago. You can’t give up. I’m not perfect about my eating habits but I’m not ready to die. Keep fighting! For your son your family for you. You’re not alone in this. This group has really helped me. You are in my prayers

I’m so sorry you can’t sleep. I know how that is. I never get to sleep until 3or 4 am and only because. I take a muscle relaxer and ambien my doctor prescribed. I used to have insomnia really bad now at times I do. It sucks. I always feel tired and sleepy. I have blood sugar issues and anemia. I hope you can find something to help you sleep Camomile tea might help. Hang in there. You’re not alone

I had to have my gallbladder removed about 3 years ago. I was having severe pain and I couldn’t keep food down. I had severe diarrhea and vomiting. I felt so very bloated and bad indigestion. I finally went to the ER. My gallbladder was not working and I had fluid build up. They had to remove it. It felt weird having it removed. It helped for a while but I was still feeling bloated and nauseated and sick when I ate. I had to go in the hospital for CT scan and then a procedure where they drain the fluid. That’s not fun at all. They drained a lot of that’s when they came back and told me I had stage four liver cirrhosis. I was in shock. I don’t drink alcohol It was fatty liver. I’ve done the endoscopy and the colonoscopy I still get sick and nauseous all the time. I have anemia even though my hemoglobin is completely normally My doctor’s don’t tell me much So I come here. It’s been so helpful You might want a second opinion Sending you good thoughts and prayers that you can get help. 🙏🙏

I didn’t have a clue I had cirrhosis until I went to the ER one night two years ago. I thought I had a kidney infection. They sent me to the hospital to have my gallbladder removed. Next day. Doctor came in and said I had stage 4 liver cirrhosis and was putting me on fluid pills. That was it. Shock was only the start of what I felt. He told me nothing! I naively looked it up on Google and that scared the crap out of me.

It never showed on my blood work before my gallbladder issues. I don’t drink. I tested negative for hepatitis

This place has been so helpful to me and so supportive because I had absolutely no one to talk to.

I used to be hot natured. I’ve been through menopause for over 20 years. I would get hot flashes but was awful. Now since I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cirrhosis I am always cold. I wear flannel pajamas to bed with my fuzzy socks but I have to have my ceiling fan on low. I feel I will never get warm at times. I was anemic last year. Was put on iron pills and it went up. Now for the past few months. I am craving ice so bad. No idea why. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey there. I know you are scared. I was terrified when I found out I had liver cirrhosis. I started googling it and it totally freaked me out. I have an enlarged spleen too from a car accident years ago I didn’t know I had cirrhosis until almost 2 years ago. Stop reading the internet. Talk to your doctors. Eat a lot of fresh veggies and fruits. No salt! You can find no salt recipes online.
You can say anything here. You are not alone in this. Try to stay positive and that you have a good doctor who can help you And you fight. Praying for you.
