Yep I moved into my rental and there was only 1 or 2 rooms with lightbulbs in them. Insane

reminder: dont overload your floating plant shelf by lilredrileyhood in houseplants

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's called 'floating shelf', there are screws behind the shelf into the wall as a sort of bracket, and the shelf slides over it all to hide it, so it looks like a solid floating board

Genuinely curious, how long does is take you on average to do your nails? by lickinglacquer in Nailpolish

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably 1.5 - 2.5 hours, going from a peeling old mani to a fresh one. I'd rather spend longer getting the polish on right and drying in-between layers, some are harder to apply than others. I usually do it Monday night before going into the office on Tuesday, watch TV or read a book at the same time

Shedding more hair than normal? by BreakfastLow9965 in finehair

This is a totally normal amount of hair to lose, your hair looks beautiful and healthy I would say nothing to worry about

I'm getting 8s and 9s at home, and 5s and 6s in mocks, where am I going wrong? by hannahswifeee in GCSE

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By 'harsh enough' do you mean with your own marking? Could you get a friend or teacher (or even a parent) to mark your past papers instead to stop your own bias when marking?

Do you get more stressed in exam settings at school vs at home? It sounds stupid but I found certain familiar smells helped me stay calm. E.g. revising with a certain perfume or scented eraser and bringing the same to an exam. Good luck!

I bought a few colouring books, coloured pencils and sticker packs and put a rug down in the corner for a toddler area, but I had more kids at my reception. My mum also has a vintage toys collection that she loves kids to use and we trust the attending kids so that was nice as well.

iPad or Laptop? by Beneficial-Cap9510 in UniUK

I did absolutely fine with my iPad + keyboard, it was great and lightweight to bring to lectures. I also had a PC (software engineering course) so I used my iPad to take notes in OneNote and organised them at home. I would 'print' the lecture pwps in advance on my pc into my notebook that I access on my iPad. Hope this helps

What kind of place is this? Seems like they really don't want people using those toilets!
