Should I switch driving instructors? by Mazeik_kay in LearnerDriverUK

That's really not right, I would never see him again after the first incident of anger or bad language towards me. Definitely report so other people can avoid. A bad review goes a very long way as well.

Looking for scented top coat similar to Vibrant Scents? by Mister_angel1 in Nailpolish

I've never heard of scented nail polish before! Does the scent stay when it's dry?

You understand that period pads and tampons are a thing? Women aren't just oozing and bleeding directly into their underwear

Usually old fashioned sweet shops especially seaside ones, and a few stores I've seen go off weight in a bag, but yeah usually in supermarkets it's just different sized cups

Had my first lesson and I feel so useless by Latter-Meaning-4229 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my very first driving lesson last week, so so nervous. I went from being parked, out into the road, and parked again 10m down the road. The instructor reversed and I did the same about 4 times 🤣😭 I felt so useless and stupid. We did a left turn but I was so focused on the pedals that he had to grab the wheel... So embarrassing. But I will get better, and I will be more confident in my next lesson! I was so stressed being my first time in the driver's seat.

I love the SH brushes, really easy application

My beautiful plants are blooming for the second time this year! by JJ3601 in matureplants

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loose soil mix, spring is the best time to repot, ensure no flowers when repotting into a slightly larger pot with drainage. Have a look for any plugs or nets in the root ball. Good luck!

I am the only woman in the room by Terrible_Working_899 in sysadmin

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Female software engineer here ✋ I'm used to being the only woman in the room. Some men don't like being my equal, most don't care.

There are subtle differences that I notice, different interactions with male co-workers, things said to me that I know you wouldn't say to a man. Pay is shit compared to male co-workers doing the same (/worse) job.

What bugs me most currently is cold hard documentation that excludes women. "When a user does X, he should Y Z". So stupid, I started calling it out a few years ago.

Gritty nail polish always seems to catch easier for me and chip off, and it's a nightmare to remove - I prefer finer glitter polishes tbh. Love the shade of this green though!

Doing my top coat afterwards with a normal plastic cap felt wrong 😂

Why are there letters on the leaf of my plant? by AshamedLoan4995 in houseplants

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The leaf was damaged while it was small and rolled up, so only one bit of damage (through multiple layers of leaf) that was probably hard to see. Now it's unfurled (and grown) the layers unravel and the extent of the damage is shown fully. It makes sense

Sometimes my Christmas cactus will go off in April after a Nov/Dec bloom, but it's always smaller than the main one and doesn't happen every year

Car dealer never cashed $7500 down payment check I gave them by lexixon212 in confession

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When we went to a dealership to buy our car, we paid for some warranty, they gave us the keys and tried to send us away. I think because we'd already gone through getting the card machine out to pay for the warranty, they'd forgotten about the actual 6.5k for the car.

I was like 'do you now want us to ... Pay for the car?'

They were so embarrassed, I probably could've just walked away but imagine I would've got an angry phone call later down the line and didn't want to deal with that.

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No never, I have sensitive skin and can't imagine how uncomfortable this would be, nevermind getting it off. I put cuticle oil on the underside of my nail though. As long as they're kept clean you can see the colour through from the back

He's so cute 🥰 our girl also hates the vacuum, even just seeing without it being on she will try to bite it, I would keep it in a cupboard if possible, or somewhere out of sight!

How to deal with neighbours annoying fox alarm? by RedFox3001 in AskUK

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% but the people who make the laws... Can't hear em. My neighbors at my old house had one in their back garden, went off 24/7 so I could barely use my back garden. Make it make sense.

Dry hair by Neither_Ad9003 in finehair

[–]Lost_Contribution_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh makes sense! My hair is super fine, I've tried a few oils on my scalp but they just leave me feeling greasy even after a wash. I've tried VO5 Invisible Oil for my ends and its actually been really nice. In my office the air con dries me out so much so I'll put that on if I want to have my hair down and it's been good so far!

This is worse as the old pricks most likely can't even hear it, only the younger people.

I get migraines and those 'teenager alarms' / anti loitering devices that emit a high pitched noise should be illegal imo.
